I agree with the guys satisfied with USPS. My goods (tractor parts) traveled from Texarkana (Texas) to Vilnius (Lithuania) via Chicago's airport within 4 days.

Fed EX is just terrible. The claim my house does not exist but the drive right by it to deliver to a neighbor. The idiot just left a package at the post office for the post office to deliver and the post office does not deliver to my house. Sometime they use a so called Trusted Agent who happens to be th local drunk from the saloon. It usually takes at least 4 days longer until he gets around to delivering. UPS comes right to the door usually in less than 4 or 5 days. I try to get places not use FedEx but some of them have contracts I guess and thats the only way they ship. Poor.

They both work fine for me and I'm about 15 miles out of town on a dead end road.

What I had to learn the hard way was, I am not in "overnight delivery" territory. By definition, anything sent to me "overnight" will in fact, be two days.

Now that I know this it's not an issue. However, the time I ordered some ice cream and had it sent "overnight", it became an issue. We were leaving and just happened to pass the UPS truck so I knew he was heading to our house. I got the package, went home and immediately put the goods into the freezer.

I called the company the next day to let them know I was unhappy about the 2nd day delivery and THEN discovered it wasn't their fault but rather my zip code.

What was interesting is, the company went ahead and sent me ANOTHER box to replace the first box at no charge.

The first box was merely getting soft, it had not melted.

I was a doubly happy camper

My parents have had issues with Fedex claiming that their street does not exist. What they found is that the USPS has the road listed as either 17th road or Seventeenth road (cant remember which) and Fedex uses their data.
So sending a fedex package to 17 road (which is what the sign at the end of the road says) confuses 99% of the Fedex drivers.

My house is pretty rural and both FedEx and UPS deliver without issue. Both drivers are in company trucks and have been very friendly. USPS on the other hand uses what they call a "Highway" delivery (independent contractor) and will only deliver to a mailbox located on a paved road.

Even though I have an oversize mailbox, Billy, the operator, usually will just drop a delivery notice even if it is a small package. He drives a Jeep and probably doesn't want to carry packages because they take up too much room. That means a 20 mile trip to town to pick up.

I complain at the PO and service will improve for a while, but the agents at the PO are some of the nastiest people you would ever want to meet.

Someone going Postal there would be a blessing!:confused2:

I would call/email USPS Customer Service (USPS - Customer Service) and tell them about your RECURRING problem. Stress that when you complain locally it gets better for a while, then it goes back to the same problem.

When we lived way out in the boondocks, I had a couple go rounds with UPS. Their terminal was 50 miles from me, and the service was terrible. But I never had a problem with USPS or FedEx out there. Eight years ago we moved back to town and for nearly a year were in an apartment in a big apartment complex; many buildings with 6 apartments to each building. I had a fairly large box coming from New York via UPS. There came a day when their tracking system showed it had been delivered, but it had not been delivered to me. After 2 days of phone calls, I finally learned the driver just dropped it off at the apartment's office and neither the apartment managers nor UPS told us. But now we're back in town in a house and get very good service from all 3; USPS, UPS, and FedEx. Of course, when they deliver a package, they set it by the front door, ring the doorbell, and run for their truck. They can usually get in their truck and out of sight before one of us can get to the door.

Guess I'm lucky. Even though we are a bit from town, they all have been good to us. When it comes to choice, I like UPS ...

Funny I dont see the brown team reaching out to help on a tractor forum site.. social networks- like this one are the way the world is moving so why not get ahead of everyone and get in those sites and offer help? All compaines have issues, but its the way they work to handle those issues that makes them a house hold name brand.. But again I am a little partial to the purlpe and orange team.. They kinda helped me get my ORANGE tractor:thumbsup: enough of that I need some seat time!!

In my area, USPS usually hits the mark (except for the time the carrier decided we moved)
I learned that UPS and FedEx next day takes an extra day. The drivers are in a hurry, and when they see the dirt road (which is hardpan to our driveway, unlike most of the sugar sand roads in the area), they run for the highway. As long as I use second day, or ground, there isn't an issue. The ground guys know our area like the back of their hands.

Not sure-a lot of the customer service work all over? They will be back to you soon-not going to come on the forum and not reply back..

Both Fedex and UPS does well here. However, my wife pulled in behind the USPS lady the other day, who had a package to drop at our house, and she just threw it out the window onto the ground. My wife said something to her about it, and she said it was because of our dog (which was inside at the time). UPS and Fedex always puts packages on the porch when no one is home.

I had an UPS deliver over the weekend, where I had to return something in the same box. I put the label on, was walking into the UPS store, looked down at the label, and noticed it was a FEDEX label. I was sent the package by UPS, and the company gave me a FEDEX sticker for the return. At least they gave me the return shipping label.

If you own a company that uses UPS and has a shipping account, you might want to keep a close eye on your bills, as I know of one instant where a small company started noticing more money spent on shipping than was usual. Turns out somebody was either padding the bill or shipping somebody's else freight at this companies expense. UPS still hasn't answered why, but they did loose a customer.

I have seen that with Dell warranty parts. IIRC, it was a UPS same day or 2nd day delivery (replacement motherboard, NBD contract) and a Fedex Ground return label.

All these delivery companies have one thing in common.......... humans.

It all depends on the delivery guy, the UPS guy around us has been coming here for years and years, always great.

The USPS delivery, well I get random mail and a lot of my netflix go to other people to watch. Always get the "missed you" post cards.

Fedex, pretty good, sometimes get lost.
