I had exact same issue with hex bolts, but i did have right size allen, but it was tough to use. Had to put a cheater bar on it. I reversed the way it was assembled so I could use the regular socket wrench or impact gun to take grill off easier.

What the heck is that bracket for, anyway? I see no use for it.

The bracket is for holding /storing the toplink up when not in use. When flip up, you can slide brackets onto the pins and it holds the toplink up. some tractors use a wire hanger. The BX happens to have a nice bracket. It better to havce toplink held in up position instead of dangling ,banging around when not in use.

Why not just take it off? It seems to me if it sticks up it will interfere with the BH use.

The 3-point hitch has to be off to use the backhoe...

I thought radioman was talking about taking off everything but the top link, but now I see he was referring to either (a) having nothing but the 3-pt on, or (b) using an implement which does not need the top link (other than the BH, of course).:laughing:

I just bought a my first Kubota Tractor its a BX1800 only 390 hours I payed 5000 for it it only came with a MMM 52" deck. I have a question siince i just bought it i dont know the service history on my tractor. it only has 39 hours. My local dealer wants to change all the fluids( oil Hyd and Hydro filters, axels ) in the tractor which will cost 450 dollars. Is this over kill or smart.
