I started out with a Huber that had been sitting for 32 years, I'm about 80 percent finished. I have another one for parts, let me know what you need, maybe I can help.

Tim

hi tim were are you in ny, im 80 miles south of buffalo.. i really need a motor. i have a huber that looks just like yours, without the cab.i paid to get head rebuilt and pistons and rings and all new bearings. fella died before he put oil pan back on and started it. son lost building after his passing.. and it got moved outside under tarp and i just retrieved it before everything came up missing. so far what i see is the pan is off no exhaust manifold .or carb and i think mabee the govenor is partialy gone no exhuast or gas tank. i almost need a parts book to tell whats missing. no idea on year of motor or machine to even buy a book . there is so many series. my email is bone65200214733@yahoo.com if ya sent me your email mabee i could send ya a few pics of motor and you could tell me what im missing. the guys son says he has all the parts for it but has had his feet cut off, and cant get around right now to look for me. i dought if that happens anyway, he is a drunk. hard to find a guy to work on hercules motors up my way. i can build a 7 sec 1/4 mile dragbike ,and have several of them but ithink im over my head unless i repower it with a differant motor and tranny. i cant figure how to post a pic:mad::mad:...steve

your's is close to the year of mine, early 50s. Get some of your big friends, go to where the parts are and get them. Tell whoever has the parts you're not taking no for an answer

No front blade or loader, what you see is what I got. They do a great job, I have a 1/2 mile long gravel driveway I keep in shape with it.

The Herc. in my grader runs great. I have a second Huber that I robbed some parts off of. That one also has a good engine, Trans. and rear end. I think I'll keep that one as a back up for parts

any chance of selling the motor out of the other parts one. mine is all rebuilt, but no oil pan .no intake or ex manifoldes. basicly a short block now . do you no what the torque is at off idle, like 1600 rpms and what torque is at full throttle and what that rpm whould be maxed out ..steve or what does your idle at and about what rpm is at working speed wile grading.. i found a industrial motor that makes 235 ft lbs of torque at 1600 rpms and max rpm is 4500 ..i think the hurc motor if i remember right was at 3500 if i remember right. ran under load around 2500 3000 rpms

Having no tack. I'm not sure what rpms it's running and what torque it has. I just know it will spin the tires at just over idle if I push the blade down to far.
I might sell the other motor, I have to think about it.

TJA:

That is a first class restoration. The only thing I can identify is the rear axle, which looks like 1940's Ford 1 1/2 ton truck.

How do you operate it? I can see the gearshift and the brake appears to be a hand operated band on the transmission output shaft. Is the large pedal behind the console the clutch, and is the small round pedal nearby the throttle?

It appears that the blade angles, lifts, and tilts. Does it move any other direction?

It is great to see those old machines preserved.

Thanks.
