Ah Prudhoe Bay Alaska. Gotta love it!! I happen to know that this is a real photo. That guy works for Slumberger in Prudhoe. I know this because I also work there. This photo was sent out as a safety bulletin and the dangers of leaving garage doors open in the summer. It also included leaving food (garbage) laying around.

Just the joy of seeing the wildlife is good enough for me. The situation in the picture is rare with a bear. Arctic fox on the other hand trying to come in a building is common. They almost always have rabies and truly are more dangerous.

so you got both grizzlies and polar bears up in Prudhoe I gather, do they ever meet face to face or do polar bears move further north in the summer when grizzlies are awake

They are actually the brown bear since they are on the coast but the same as the grizzly and of coarse they hibernate in the winter. The polar bears only show up in the winter mostly. The ice on the ocean retreats here and the Polar bears are on the ice. Never seen them come face to face. In fact I personally haven't seen any bears in the last two years.
When ever a Polar bear shows up the Security team gets all up in arms, gets excited, and sends out bulletins about them being protected by the Federal Marine Mammal Act and that we can go to jail just for taking photos of them. That is right before they go out and haze them with rubber bullets or bean bags. Oh the power of a rent-a-cop.

Id be getting out of there. That truck offers little or no protection if he wants in. He will open it up like a sardine can!
