Holy cow!!

I heard back from my dealer this morning on some prices for some JD attachments and implements and I almost fell over! Do they charge a premium for green paint on attachments too??

Pallet forks (floating) $1,099
Debris grapple bucket $2,952
Manure fork and grapple $2,679
Root grapple $2,100
MX5 rotary cutter $2,993
Rear blade $799

Is there any other companies that make good grapples for the 3x20/4x20 series JD tractors, for cheaper?

....This grapple with optional bottom tines and JD bucket connections, and delivery to MN was $1160. Do a search under Markham / Gator. Best bang for the buck....IMO.

foggy1111 - Do you find that grapple to heavy for the little 3000 series unit?

I still have not bought my tractor yet, still in the deciding phase, but I am concerned the weight of some of these attachments is going to seriously limit how much I can use them on a 3000 series machine.

If one puts on a 600 lb grapple bucket, you can only lift 1,000 pounds after that, and then you are maxed out at what the tractor/loader can handle.

The pics make the grapple look a lot bigger than it is. (Maybe my camera settings or the angle taken....so don't let the pics fool you.) I don't have loads of experience with the grapple yet....but we did have a mega wind-storm and I had about 25 trees to remove from my trails this fall before deer hunting. It made short work out of the ordeal.....and in an hour or so I had things back to normal.

Most were 10 to 15" pines....and I had no problems with picking these trees up and moving em around at will. I broke a few in two by snapping em between a few other trees and generally could do as I wanted with the downed trees. The grapple seems perfect sized to me....granted I dont have heavy oak...but still....good capacity IMO.

OH....and I dont remember the exact weight....but its more like 300 lbs...not 600 as said.

We still reference Markham so users can search all the older threads...if they only search Gator they would find VERY little info on your products-you don't want that do you?;)

I have the same grapple your my SMALLER machine, it is rated for about 900lbs lift. I have done some serious lifting with mine. It is well suited for the 300 series loaders as well. The LD-48 only weighs in at just over 300lbs.

There are also other sources for forks, like Everything Attachments, and Chris Perry's,

Hmm, very interesting!

Thanks for all the info everyone! These things seem very very useful. The stuff I have to move isn't as heavy as what you guys have done so I should have absolutely no problem at all!

I am pretty much sold on these things! There usefulness never runs out. Now, just to find a good price on a tractor to put it on!

I'll bet you could save some bucks by not getting the floating tine pallet forks. I've heard most people don't like them anyway.

So why the name change from Markham to Gator?

Well, I would like to be able to move the forks for different sized pallets. I will also need the forks for holding up fence boards and such while I work on the fencing, so that will need spacing to keep it balanced.

Julie,

I emailed you over a week ago regarding the second misfitting 3pt hitch loader attachment that your shop has made for me.

Any chance you, or Christie, will be getting back to me?

-Jeremy.

Both styles of forks are adjustable for width.

We have a new hot single female owner, who actually has owned Markham since May 2009. Not sure why the old staff did not let everyone know, but now the new staff! ...Gator Girls :D Are here and we still have the attachments you need!

Jeremy! SO sorry. Christie has been out with the flu! She actually is just back today. Give her a call here at the shop and she will make you a new 3pt hitch and fix your issues! Again sorry, sometimes doing something special is hard over the phone.
Thanks

You know what would help you and your customers? A form that could be on your website that could be e-mailed and/or faxed with options/ deletions. Things like mount type, options to delete hoses and/ or couplers, and coupler types. And upgrades like 1/2" end frames, extra ribs, etc. my .02$

Pretty sure I suggested this about six weeks ago. Right before the wrong hydraulic connectors where sent out to me, again.

JDTank, I have the 48" rail pallet forks which are fully adjustable but are not floating forks, floating forks cannot be tipped down and held in place. This would eliminate a lot of the usefullness of having forks.

Man those prices your dealer quoted you are high! I would tell him that you are looking elsewhere for implements.
