Snow Equipment Buying/Pricing Must've been a run on snow blowers ....

Well, we got our first cold weather the other morning. :shocked:

I was out on my route and was in and out of many ACE Hardware stores and Tractor places of various brands.

I looked ... even asked ... and no one had any snow blowers available. Not free standing or 3PH or SS type.

I had one dealer tell me that he didn't think I'd find one anywhere in the whole state.

There must have been a run on them for every one in the entire state to be sold out!

It has warmed up a bit, so I guess there is time for them to re-stock before anyone else around here goes looking for one.

Don't try coming north to SC to find one. I haven't seen one here in....? Let me think. Oh yes, never in the 30+ years I've lived here. It's been brutal here -- last week we had a frost that got most of the kudzu crop.

Come north and you'll trip over them as you enter some stores..also sticker shockers $$$'s.

Bunches and bunches of snowblowers here.......all types and sizes.
But I gotta ask..........ya go gator choppin with them down there?

I think the Lowes down the road has about 30 of them sitting out front. I guess they sent the bulk of them up north for some reason.

I was told at one tractor store that he did sell a snow blower for someone in the area. It was a walk behind model. Of course, he had to order it.

He also told the guy that the warranty would not be valid and that if it needed service, they would have to do the service on site, they would not work on it in their shop.

He wanted it for cleaning his chicken houses

I've been in poultry houses, and although I've never been around snow blowers, I have a general idea of how they work. The bottom line: poultry litter + snow blower = ........... . Upon reflection, I don't even want to think about it.

They seem to be low on sun block lotions in the stores around here!
