Verizon to offer 10gb wireless broadband - I was told

Thursday has come & gone ... anybody see any announcements from Verizon about this?

its on the website now... they now offer a 1gb/ 3gb / 5gb/ and 10gb plans.. overage is $10/gb for all but the 1gb plan ($20)

When they started offering the new plans they also changed the cost of the MIFI device.. before it cost $50 and you got a $50 rebate.. Now the device cost $99..

Got to love this. First unlimited, then they take it away, rebrand it as 5GB for the same price and now offer 10GB for 60% higher cost. Hmm.

The millenicom is still the best value for Verizon service for those of us that are new to the playing field..

The new plans appear to be "For Tablets, Mobile Hotspots, Netbooks & Notebooks". No change "For 3G USB Modems" (aka me), still $59.99 for 5GB.

Then buy a mobile hotspot, that way you can share that with up to 5 wireless computers.

I have no idea what a "mobile hotspot" is. :confused3: My house is anchored to a foundation so its mobility is rather limited. I use a router with 3 computers connected via Ethernet that share one 3G modem.

Not sure if you are serious or not.. BUT incase you are - a mobile hotspot is a device that connects to the wireless broadband network and broadcasts a wireless signal for up to 5 devices.. They call it a MIFI (about the size of 10 credit cards stacked on top of one another) and the signal will go about 30 ft..

Your set up is basically the same, but the MIFI replaces the wireless router that you have..

I was kidding about my house being immobile but was serious about not knowing what a "mobile hotspot" is. Thanks for clearing that up. Think I'll just stick with what I have until LTE becomes boondock available in a few years.

From what I understand Verizons LTE is scheduled for roll-out next year, and is ahead of expectations for coverage areas......

I too am waiting, for some odd reason the fiber trunks running down the road don't like local vampire taps.
