Here is more pump information from elsewhere on the internet. Another forum, I think, although I've forgotten exactly where I got it. It contains the instructions for actually rebuilding the pump. This goes far beyond what is necessary to just stop the leaks around the throttle or cutoff stems. I hope that is never necessary, as it seems to involve specialized tooling. You may find it interesting.

I also have a leak, but I am pretty sure it is from a defective gasket. Can someone please send me the instructions for rebuilding the injection pump? I am hoping that I will not have to remove the pump from the tractor to replace the upper gasket, but any help or instructions would be appreciated. Also, any place that sells a gasket kit would be nice too. Please send any information to pottergang1995@aol.com

I have a 165 and a 184-4 wheel drive. The fuel pumps look the same and I believe are the same as on the 135 The 184 has a leak around the throttle shaft. Could you provide me with the instructions on repairing the problem?

I also have an old JD 420 crawler that I bought nearly 40 years ago. My son is wanting to restore it. The 420 needs a lot of parts. Many of the parts I can make but I still need a source for those that I can't. Where or who has a supply of 420 parts including an engine ?
