Thanks TripR good reading... I have actual got to play with one of those piston M4's- not the HK although. Just goes to show you that we Americans are behind on some of the tech and design that other countries have:mad:

My son was in the 82nd Airborne and is a former Police Officer and is now a firearms trainer and my son in law was a Ranger, so they keep me up on this stuff. My last rifle was a Sig 556 with the piston like the HK 416 and it runs great. No junk blowing back into the action and it runs really cool. Ruger also makes an AR style piston operated rifle.

I believe POF and CCM make piston kits for the M4.

What is meant by "Manufactured"? The Green and Yellow tractors are mostly assembled here in the USA using both foreign and domestic parts. By using say hydraulic values or wiring harnesses manuifactured oustside of USA does this voild the 'Manufactured in USA? This is a global ecomony so parts come from everywhere, what the cosumer should look at is where is the compineis headquarters and where are it's profits are going.

So you would look at the company ownership and discount the workers in the US that build, assemble, manufacture?

I really like mine, but like my Colt too. My sons have some custom assembled M4's that are really nice too. One has a 9" barrel, but I won't go through the paperwork to own one.

Unions killed "American Made" period.....

Union reps/organizers selling a dream of "fair and honest wages" drove US business oversees. The fact is, the world needs ditch diggers too and not everyone is going to be rich.

Our Grandparents worked for pride and basic survival not overpriced cars, giant TVs and inflated mortgages. Heaven help us because we are headed down a shaky road.

No one has mentioned Terramite? (as far as I seen) I don't know the percentage of parts that are made here but the ergonomics sure make it look like it is built 100% USA

$750 a day. I'd like to know what union worker gets that kind of pay. You must be talking about management who ships work over seas to maximize profits to pad their pckets or make rich investors richer and undermine our local economies.

No joke, where do I sign up to build tractors for $180,000 a year. Those working on the line build what management tells them to, from parts that are given to them.

I wonder what some of you would say if a tractor factory was right behind your property, paying its workers $8 an hour, and providing no benefits. Since your panacea would include no government oversight or laws, they would also pump out toxic metals into the air and highly toxic chemicals into your well water. Those people making minimum wage with no benefits would flood your local hospital with their sick and injured family, but they'd have no way to pay, so in the end YOU get to pick up the tab.

Give me a break with the union bashing please. Unions aren't perfect but they provide a livable wage for their families and that money in turn gets spent in your local economy buying food, cars, boats and TRACTORS too.

I have worked in union shops as a union employee and management I have no use for them, why should I pay someone to work, the only thing the unions are good for are lazy people.

BTW where is JIMMY HOFFA?:D:D:D

Incorrect.

The company that employs the union members provides the wage.

Just my opinion but Unions have far outlived their value. Yes there was a time 80 yrs. ago or so when there was a need but that need has long past..It was unions and their greed that has driven manufactuing to other countries.

Forget this Global world stuff...It is only a Global economy if we choose to play in that arena...The unions are solely responsible for driving up wages and benefits way beyond any foreign competition thereby forcing manufactures to go to the cheap labor ..in other countries. Please tell me how it makes sense for an assembly line worker who has never spent 4 to 8 yrs. in college to be paid $75.00 and hour plus benefits and then to be paid 90% of his or her pay to sit at home if they are laid off...Just makes no sense and now the Unions buy their favors from politicians...Tell me that makes sense ?

I am not 100% sure - but isn't JCB still all American made?

Drove by their Savannah, GA plant on our way to Daytona back in Aug - so looked them up - Look like they make their own engines and everything is made in NA

JCB North America: Company Information

Not sure the count as tractor company, but they do have a 20hp TLB

I don't mean assembled...I mean other than Caterpillar is there any American Tractor manufacturer left standing that still actually manufactures their tractors on US soil...Engines and say 90% of the parts ? Just curious..Thanks.

As I understand it the answer is "Not under 100 HP" and even over 100 probably not.
Does it matter ?

Incorrect.

True, but take a look at anybody working at Wal-Mart if you need an example of why unions still exist. The Wal-Martization of American is sad to see. People wonder why jobs are going overseas? Part of the reason is the American appetite for cheap, crap made in China, period.

Yes, absent unions the mega-corporations would lower prices across the board and provide health care and retirement out of the goodness of their hearts. The shareholders will certainly understand!

Where are you guys getting these absurd hourly rates anyway? Please provide some sort of evidence of any line worker making even close to $75 an hour not including benefits. Stretching the truth doesn't help your argument.

I am NOT saying unions don't have their faults, they do, but all I see it a lot of sour grapes.

I know of several manufacturing companies that do not have a union workforce that provide health care and retirement benefits.

Go here and see for yourself. ( Chysler $75.86 / Hr. wages and benefits ) Actually I was LOW at $750.00 a day doe 10 HOURS, I didn't figure the overtime hours after (8) Hours so it would be a a few hundred over $750.00.

Average Hourly Compensation 2006 (US Wages and Benefits) - Big Three Auto - ProCon.org

It's not only the USA but no Country on the planet can compete with China because they use prison labor for free or for like I said $2.00 a D-A-Y.

As An American who wouldn't buy American over any Country if the price was the same, but we know that is an impossibility given our rules, regulation, and wages up against no rules, no regulations and no wages. It's a no brainer.

As a proud American it disgusts me to see the amount of product from all other Countries for sale here and virtually none of our products being sold in China or other Countries. We allow anything to come here with little tariffs and China puts on three and four times the value of out products in tariffs so our products become insanely priced in their Country.

If it were up to me I would do the same thing I would make that TV so expensive that some college kid would say " Hey I think I can build that TV here in the USA and compete with that expensive China TV.

I would tax LEVIS so much on their imported Jeans that they come BACK to the USA and make them here like they did for 100 years.

I would charge Hershey Chocolate so much in taxes they would BEG to make their chocolate back in Pennsylvania.

Tons of American made companies leave American and keep selling their goods here and get the best of both worlds - that is what needs to stop.

Isn't it funny that Toyota comes here to build cars and Hershey and Levis leave here to make their products? WHY?
