Im wondering if anyone has bought any concrete lately? What did it run? Heard a rumor that it will be coming down in the near future.
Im in SE Tx. Will make a few calls tomorrow when concrete places are open.

In mid-August, I paid a local guy, $3200 for a 16 x 24 slab with 5000 psi.

Not sure if it will help. My price included escavation, form work and the pour. I am not sure of the amount of concrete in the poru. I had him do 18" beams and I had a 22" slope on the site.

Hi, Yeah im just looking at price per yard on concrete only. Will be doing prep, forms, rebar everything myself and a slave laborer or two- friends to help on the pour.

My son is a contractor, he just poured 10 yards with fiber at $90/yard. He did a 30 yd pour last month at $89/yard. But, those are negotiated prices, standard price in this area is $94/yd.

My last pour was in November '09, at $105/yard, 15 yards; previous to that, I poured 10 yards in my shop in Nov '08 at $109/yd, highest I've ever paid.

I just deferred construction of a steel equipment building here when I found out how much the concrete work was going to be. The concrete was $180/yd delivered! I'd be happy to pay $100/yd...maybe I should move to Texas?

Wedge, I have no idea how it got double-posted. But, since it was not controversial, double is better than none.

Residentially, I have no problem (July '10, March '10, and August '09) getting a price of $1000 for a 10 yard truck. Sometimes I pay less, just less than $900 for a 10 yard truck. I am 2 miles from the batch plant.

Commercially, in the last 18 months, we can get negotiated prices in the range of $670-$750 per 10 yard truck when doing very large building slabs for shopping centers.

I just paid $935 for 6 1/2 yds delivered. That included fiber strands and retarder. I had gotten a price from another company for $675, for the same load, but he was about 40 minutes away and was concerned the load would get hard. A third company wanted $120 a yard plus $200 for delivery, which would have come to $980 plus tax of about $80 totalling $1060. As you can see the price varies quite a bit, even in the same area, so shop around.

If your not 100% sure about the amount you need, you can always go with a metered truck. Comparable in price and you don't have to worry about running short. Whatever you get, make sure you go with the fiber strands, big difference in strength. Good luck
