Did I mention my walk to school in the snow:)

You must have lived in the same part of the country with my Dad! He also walked uphill to school in the snow every day. Even in the summer! Did you have burrs in your snow too? He did!:D

No shoes, uphill bothways, and had to hold our breath beccause we couldn't afford air.

On that hay hauling. hauling meant any part of the process for us. Might be raking, might be bailing, might be throwing, stacking, putting in the barn, or what ever. But no one drove the truck, put it in granny low let it go and someone would just go turn it when it needed redirection. Of course when it was full some one drove to the barn but never in the field.

Now that's funny.

Just moved onto a new place and have a similar issue. Small fields with lots of little maples that have implanted themselves ( about 1.5" or less, about 7-8' tall). Would it make sense to run a disc over the area with very little angle and then overseed? The thought of pulling all those maple makes my head spin, they seem just large enough to mess things up.

Congrats on the hay job. Nothing like the smell of good hay in the winter when you are feeding your little 'pigs'!!!
