Cayenne Peppers ???????

True story speaking of hot pepper seeds,,We always had a hog growing up when I was growing up so we could butcher it and eat it so we would grow up
Always had a slop bucket for kitchen scraps[you know where this is going already],well,mom is doing hot bannana wax peppers,she using another bucket to put seeds in,[she probably was canning a lot of peppers,] I feed the hog,so I grab that half full bucket of hot pepper seeds and stems and what not,put some water ,and hog feed,and dump it in hog trough.
Don't remember when it was noticed that poor hog was down with some of his guts sticking out his butt hole,[something was sticking out anyways,maybe hemroids]:laughing:,but we thought he was dead for sure,he didn't die,but he was not the same for a day or two,remember that.

Duffster, where are you in the state? I got mine in late and have some, but yours look fantastic!

Another tip is to wear rubber gloves when processing hot peppers, if you do a lot your hands will burn for a day or so w/o them. Freezing is a great way to store them, freeze them on a cookie sheet and then store them in zip-lock bags or cottage cheese containers.

SW WI. I froze these first ones, hope to can the next ones if there is more and maybe dry some. That pic with them hanging on a string looks good.

Well.....I think Cayenne Peppers are supposed to be hot!

Lots of different kinds of hot peppers. If hanging and drying grow some of the ones that are tapered and about eight inches long. They look nicer hanging in the kitchen.:thumbsup:

I've grown kung pow, jalapeno and habanero but not cayenne. They're good for your health..BP, colesterol...I think they're even good for the noodle.

Mix a batch of finely ground cayenne powder and some diesel in your garden sprayer and I guarantee you the horses will quit chewing the fence posts and rails. Don't place yourself downwind while spraying.
When I haul out my boat, I also mix it in to the marine anti-fouling sluff off type bottom paint for that extra kick in saltwater.
