Good season for haying

Was that first crop.

A lot of hay was made around here last week, some made second crop and some made first crop. :confused2:

Helped with some haying myself. the Baler is a Super66, late 50's model. the rake is probably as old, had to weld it back together afterwards.

Sore Back eh! We could both go down to the river pub, watch the fountain and commiserate.

Take it easy for a while so it gets better.

Egon,

Unfortunately I do not know how to take it easy - well sometimes I do - I always have at least 2-3 major projects on the go. Ah yes... the beautification of B'water - a fountain!
Yes we WILL get together at some point my friend...

Nice yield Ian. About how long between cuttings is normal?

No idea Jim, now you're getting technical on me! Frankly I don't pay much attention to it unless or until I see the farmer out ther ewith his equipment! He's pretty sure he'll get a good second cutting though - maybe by mid-to-end of August? Just a guess. We had a good rain yesterday to keep it growing good though.

Yes, Duffster, that was the first cutting. He may have left it a bit long though, he had trouble getting some of the other fields cut and baled, it was so long and thick.

Neat to see that old equipment still working! :)

Baler always kept inside, if it was washed, the paint would look like new. It takes a lot of work to keep old stuff working, but it was paid for years ago.
