MAYFLIES! Any deterent?

Good! My work is done here. :D

Interesting little tractor, what's the loader lift capacity?

Disagree on diesel, better than gas in my view. Better economically, better torque bandwidth. You're right, it stinks, get a stack. Fuel gelling in winter isn't a problem and I live much further north than you. Routinely start the diesel when it's zero out with no problems.

The only good thing I can think of about deer/horseflies is that they aren't as fat as houseflies and I can somtimes swat one. It doesn't really ease the pain of the bite, but there is some satisfaction.

Hasn't been so bad here in the Western Catskills, tried SSS (skin so soft) by Amway? Works on some critters.

Tractor weighs 1500#.
Lift capacity is 800#.
Tractor fits in the back of a full size pickup truck.
Implements change in less than 15 seconds without getting off the seat.
Powered implements require operator to plug in hydraulic hoses.
Runs circles around conventional tractors in most tasks around my home.
Does not pull ground engaging implements very well, but it is not meant to.
Extremely customizable by owner.
Solid sheet steel. No plastic. Nothing to dent.
Articulates AND oscillates.
Made in America in Tazewell, VA
They make larger and larger models, which all have diesel engines. :)
They do not repel mayflies. :p

Nice.

Lifts about a 2x20 series Deere but without pulling implements, the gas engine and no 3PH kill it for me.

Stop by the Power Trac forum here on TBN and browse around. Also, check out the Power Trac companywebsite. Neat machines if you do not have to plow dirt.

As for putting some oil in the gas to repel mayflies, I used to have a Chevy van with bad valve guides. It smoked pretty good at start up. I used to tell people I had a contract with the county to fog for mosquitoes!

To John (Toronto)

Where I come from we call the things you pictured Canadian Sand Flys, sometimes along the Niagara River they get so thick you have to stop to scrape them off the windshield to see the road.

We get them every year - last week of May through June.
The sticky tape on the hat works good, because they allways buzz your head first when they find you.
Even better - take a dark plastic cup (red, blue), make two holes opposite sides at the rim, and tie a piece of elastic to it. You wear the cup like a hat.
Then spray the cup with tangle foot and put it on, works great.
When you are on the tractor/mower, hang a cup or pot sprayed with tangle foot, we just lash a stick vertical and set a plastic pail over it.
