This whole topic is telling me that until we stop trading with communist countries that have no workers rights, minimum wage, etc. we're probably headed for even bigger problems.
How Important is Made in the USA?

I would gladly buy American Products and I guess you wont need to charge 10% more just because it is made in America, if in our country we stop paying heavy CEO salaries and marketing overheads and stop mismanaging the company, we can sell without overcharging 10%. We are in urgent for goto market and we end up getting a foreign labor with multi layers of middle man companies and pass on the cost to customers and brand as "Made in USA" Does not make any sense.
Look at the airline companies, the only way they should make money is by selling seats and cargo. All the flights are full and still they are not making money because of overheads and high salaries and mismanagement everywhere.
We can do smart manufacturing, we don't need to make even small nuts and bolts also, leave those things to poorer countries because if we kill that jobs, then we send money to them as charity. Capitalize on Mexico's distance and labor, they will stop jumping fence and they will have jobs and contain costs.
Make sure assembled or half USA manufactured product has the quality standards we want.
By not using the Globalization properly, actually we will be undoing all the hard work done till date.
"I want my dollar to farther not shorter", if all other countries dont buy our products we will be eating cornbread, oops sorry, we are making oil from our food now, so what do we do

We currently have only two manufacturers that we carry that are NOT US Companies - we sell their products simply because we believe that their products provide an increased Value to our customers because of the visible difference in quality at a reasonable price difference.
The Phoenix Tillers on our site are made by Sicma in Italy. We also offer King Kutter Tillers that are made here in the USA as well and have a good price point but . . . what is not to love about the Phoenix tillers?
The other is Agrimetal which is made in Canada. Once again, look close at the quality leaf blower and turf vacuum products that they provide.
Every other manufacturer on our site are US Companies (which we are very proud of) that manufacture here in the US. That does not mean that I do not see some components with out of the country stamps on it. . . and that is true with almost all of them.
(that part, not so proud of, but that comes from having a global economy)In our business we ship large pieces of equipment all over the US, and Canada, and we have even sent stuff to Australia. In the thousands of orders that we have sent out, I can count on my two hands the stuff that has been returned . . .
. . . the products we sell have to meet the needs of our customers or else shipping costs to return all these heavy implements would put us out of business! That is why first and foremost, we MUST sell only quality Attachments regardless of Country of Origin if we want to make it as an online business that ships nation wide. When all but two of our manufacturers products are made here in the USA, well, that is just sweet icing on top of the cake.:licking:

It sure is . . . we are up to 80+ Attachment product demo videos to help show our website visitors the product features, as well as the equipment working, and adjustment advice, as well as tips and alternate ways to use them. We have two YouTube channels which you can subscribe to if you enjoy learning about different types of implements and attachments - Literally Hours of Video, and we are trying to film more as much as we can. I know it's heresy, but made in USA does not guarantee quality materials or construction. Wish it did.
I seek to purchase quality sufficient to meet the need. Realistically, I don't use any piece of equipment all day, every day. If I did, cost would be no object. I'd simply purchase the best quality item because cost is amortized over many, many hours of use (like shoes, glasses, hat, pocket knife. )
However, I've discovered that price is not always a true indicator of quality.
I find that I need an extremely wide range of attachments and tools to get the very wide range of jobs done that I tackle. If I paid the maximum price for something, I'd only be able to afford about 25% of the items I own. I purchase extensively on Craig's List, at Harbor Freight, etc....
I don't ever seem to make a major NEW purchase. Tractor, all implements were purchased used. Tooth bar is only new attachment I've purchased and it was self installed.
I suspect that most TBN folks, like myself, are less than full time users of their equipment and thus balance quality (as perceived, possibly via warranty) with cost and quantity of implements they must have/need/want to work on their places in their spare/retired time.
Net...don't think I'm in your target population of folks purchasing new implements, but if I were to purchase new and your implement were clearly higher quality, maybe a 5% premium would convince me.

i just bought startrack voyager dvd hole set from china payed 119. us would of cost me 350.
Made in the USA is a term that should be embedded in our very soul. Personally, I pass over foreign items unless I can not find a US made product, even if it is more expensive. Other options are Canadian and Mexican made, Asian made is the last choice for me.
We (Most Americans) are extremely naive about foreign business models and believe that we are competing on a level surface; nothing could be further from the truth. Try buying an US made product in most foreign countries, you will have to pay the base price plus 100% import duty. The duty-tax is then used to fund their core business. The simple fact is that Asians will not buy a foreign product because it conflicts with their national pride and impacts their country GNP. It would be sweet if we taxed their products the same whay they tax ours,, however,, they contribute too much money to our polititians for that to happen.
When you bought that new Koti or that new Hyundai, did you realize that the product was manufactured by a foreign 敵overnment Entity and not a business, as we know it?
If we do not wake up we will all be trying to sell Big Mac痴

This may have already been stated as I have not had time to read the entire thread, but if you use the american components and charge 10% more, are you going to be able to compete with your copmpetitors who use the foreign components and still proudly label it as Made in the USA??
Lets face it, most of us who go buy a peice of equipment dont ask about every single peice and nut and bolt, etc.
So if you can truly make it out of 100% american stuff, and still remain competitive, I say go for it. But if it is going to put you 10% more $$$ than the guy down the road who also sells his as made in the usa, then I think you'll have a tough time selling.
