what is everyones opinion on the bobcat ct440 cab tractor compared to the john deere and kubota tractors of equal size?

I haven't owned that model but can tell you from my Kioti (Bobcat) purchase that it will typically be cheaper, have stronger attachments, a better warranty, and cheaper parts/accessories. It's a win-win situation.

I will have to agree with this post!

heres my 2 cents... I just bought a ct335 HST about 2 weeks ago. both my brother and my sister own JD's and I liked the kubota and thought that was what I was going to finally decide on until I actually went and drove the bobcat.
So far I am very happy, meaning no purchase regrets that I always have when I spend that amount of money, which compared to the JD and Kubota was a fairly good price. The power is great and according to others on here, it only gets better the more hours are on the machine. I only have about 36 hours on mine right now. It is very comfortable to drive and all the controls seem to be in the right places (for me).
When they delivered mine they only had the industrial tires so I drove it for about a week and they were unfilled. They came and took it back to put my filled AG tires on and wow what a difference. Lots of guys posted to make sure to get the tires filled and I completely agree.
There are 3 things that I have issues with though...
1. it is really slow in reverse, not when going back and forth doing loader work, but when traveling backwards for any distance it seems very slow.
2. it doesn't want to move forward when in high gear on any type of slope. The dealer told me that because its a new machine and the HST works on hydraulics, everything is still tight and will losen up with time (???) I guess the same as getting more power as the hours increase. We'll see.
3. and maybe its just me, but the white color is like looking in a mirror when the sun pops in and out of the trees, darn near blinding.
That said I'm reminded of that bumber sticker "I Love My Tractor"

I now have 84 hours on my 235, and was using high gear on some return trips to my work area the other day, and I was noticing I had a little more flexibility when I was still in high gear, didnt seem to pop the pressure valve so easy

Yeah I dont have the high gear problem, lots of power here but then again I dont have a HST anymore and oh yeah 50hp is nice:D

I have a pretty steep hill at the end of my road, and the first week I drove my Cat to town to give her a bath at the carwash, coming back up that hill, I had to downshift (4 hours on it) to make it up the hill
tonight I was down helping a neighbor out, and it came up the hill from a dead stop in road gear, no problem at all
