I bought a brand new Kubota B3030 with a backhoe (BH75). Upon delivery I noticed that none of the 3 point hitch parts were with the tractor so I called the dealer. THe dealer told me that the tractor was ordered without the 3 point hitch parts because it was to be fitted with a backhoe. Could this be true? I call BS but I need to get my facts in order before I talk to him on Monday.

THanks in advance for the help.

JZ,

Sorry to tell you but it sounds possible....but still lousy. I'd imagine the dealer did it to reduce cost, but that really is the kind of thing you'd expect him to verify with you before deleting.

I couldn't pass up the deal and bought the tractor from a dealer out of state. I would add that the dealer did not make mention of the missing parts when he sold me a landscape rake. The 3 Point for the 3030 is listed as standard equipment on the Kubota page so I did not see a reason to verify?

I would say that is pretty rediculus considering one of the major selling points of the B3030 is the 3 point hitch. My guess is that he is trying to keep the nice 3 point for someone else? OR sell it as an upgrade on a 20 series?

I would look into that. Pretty fishy to me.

One of our contractors at work is getting ready to pull the trigger on a BX25 TLB and mentioned that the dealer who gave him the best price wanted another $200.00 for the 3PH arms... I thought that was strange too until I heard this..

I've never heard of a 3 point hitch being an option on a 3030....... and nowhere have i ever seen it listed as such in Kubota's wholegoods list.

Not defending Kubota on this - but I would assume that the 3ph is "standard" in that the hydraulic cylinder assembly and lift arms are there - just none of the pieces that actually let you use it - lower link arms, lift rods, top link, etc. I think this scenario has pretty much been confirmed for the BX25, so it may be that it has been adopted with other models configured as a TLB

IMHO, it's like selling a FEL or BH without the bucket. Not sure what the rationale for this "sell tactic" is, but they should make it very clear whether it is included or not as I would consider it an integral part of any tractor use

Lots of excavating contractors and rental yards (for example) will buy tractors without a need for 3 point hitches.....as they always leave the hoe attached. I agree that your dealer should have discussed this with you....and I think he must have forgot to add the linkage (?).

Did you discuss your requirements with the dealer? (or, Did you get a landscape rake from him with the purchase?) If you did, I would think he should feel obliged to get the needed parts.

The fact that they are listed as standard in your literature is another good point. Kinda a crummy situation you have.....I think I would make some noise too.

JZ150,

8 days ago my new B2320, FEL & BH was delivered without 3 point arms and top link and hardware..:confused2:.....next day went to dealer and said ????....Oh the driver was suppose to bring them.....here they are.....how 'bout SMV triangle reflector?????....Here you go...N/C...thanx bye.....

they gave me no problem......did I get a bonus or were these extra from other dealers too...

BX25 is standard as a TLB, and I am sure that there is some cost savings off MSRP because of this. I don't see how you could order a B3030 without a 3-P hitch.
A would be nice to hear from one of the dealers if this is a option on ordering, or if it's a dealer holding onto something.

Private Messages work fine too for any of you that have information but do not want to call a fellow dealer out. I just want to have all the information before I make my arguement.

Thanks for all the feedback.

If your statement is true and you bought the rake from the dealer that you purchased the tractor from and I am going to assume you ordered the rake at the same time you ordered the tractor, then your case is complete. They sold you a product without the means of using it. I would ask the dealer how they expected you to use the rake (purchased from them) with out the 3 pt arms? Don't back down, make them tell you why they would do such a thing!! Hope all goes well with the final outcome of your situation.

It didnt happen that way when I purchased my 7520 fitted with B/H. The 3ph parts were handed to me at delivery. Later, when I noted that I had been shorted the loader subframe just because the B/H subframe performed the function, I got that provided too. You ordered; a Tractor, and a B/H, and a loader. You are due all parts of each. Did they short you the drawbar too?

I have heard of the 3 PH arms being "optional" also. However, the Kubota website lists in the specification for the B3030:

Cat I 3-point Hitch
At lift Point 2139 lbs.
24 Behind 1676 lbs.

Without the arms this could not be accurate and could not be achieved.

Also, the "Window Sticker" on the build you own lists:

PREMIER PLUS FEATURES
Tilt Steering Wheel
Deluxe Cruise Control
Adjustable Seat Suspension
3 Pt. Lower extendible links
Ratchet right link

Enclosed operator controls
Seat with Arm Rests

At no place is an option to buy the 3 PH arms listed. They should be included.

Attached is the "Window Sticker" in PDF form. Print it out and take it to the dealer as evidence that your B should have the 3 PH components included.

If it states it is "standard" and you buy a BH as an accessory...you should still get the 3pt. PERIOD.

Sounds like BS to me - - I would have expected better from a Kubota dealer

Being a Kubota dealer does not require higher ethical standards than dealers of other brands. Any independent businessman can be a dirtbag if he desires. Clearly the OP's selling dealer is making that attempt.
