In 1994, Went to Dubi to catch the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson... I had to turn over all bill paying to my wife. I used to set down once a month and pay the bills. That was many years ago, I never took the bill paying back. She still pays the bills to this day.

The computer. Or me via the computer. I schedule repeated payments and every so often when checking on the account I schedule payments that change month to month - like electricity.

My Wife. I am on direct deposit and she doles out the money as I need it. Rarely says no, but cash has become some type of obtuse thing in my life. I never seem to have much of it in my pocket.:)

I do, since day one of the marriage.

Currently have Computer Banking / Microsoft Money records back to 1995. Given laptops and mobile Internet can connect to Bank from anywhere in the country and update on daily basis if necessary.

My wife takes care of the bills, she does a great job. Gives me my allowance when i ask. Has worked out great and we haven't bounced a check or missed a payment in 15 years.

I do, several are auto pay but the day the bill comes in I write the check and it goes in the mail next day.

Yea, if you adjusted my allowance for inflation, I'd be in the soup line during the 20's.:laughing:I haven't carried more than 30-50 bucks for many years now.Average is 20. The occasional big cash purchase from private party is the only deviation.

We've been married 45 years and I've still never been able to get my wife to take any interest at all in our finances. When I went to the FBI National Academy for 10 weeks, I gave her a list of the bills/payments she'd need to take care of, and of course she can do it and did do it, but only when she had to.:D Of course now I do it all on the computer (which is something else she's never had any interest in).

The wife. I tell her what to pay and she does the work. If we don't have enough money for all the bills we work it out together. Has worked well for 35 years.

Second marriage for both of us, so separate checking accounts and "his and hers bills" made for a lot less stress in the marriage in the beginning. Of course they are both joint accounts and doesn't really matter where the money comes from now after 20+ years. Normally, I pay all the "operating" costs except food and she pays for special stuff e.g. house redecorating etc..

But to the OP, I use online banking for almost all payments, been a long time since I have written a paper check, works great for me and I like it. On the other hand, cannot for the life of me get wife to use online banking, still writes checks for her bills, but at least she uses debit for purchases. ;-)

I do. I'm not interested in not being in control of the money.

And my wife couldn't care less about it. Works out well.

My wife pays the bills and takes care of all the small stuff , like where we live what we eat where the kids go to school. I take care of the big stuff like foreign policy, national debt, etc.

2 separate accounts, I get the 2 credit cards, one paid by check other paid online, she has the rest... after 18 years, I finally put her on my account (needed new checks anyway :)). She still has tons of checks left since most of her bills are automatic drafts. We even split the cost of the tractor :D
