Daedong, not Kioti. You could never tell a Mercury mechanic he worked for Ford :p

I couldn't spell Daedong so I went with Kioti.

I did not realize that Kioti and Bobcat, when it comes to Daedong are two completely separate entities in every way.

I'm still curious to see if they continue with the Kioti brand.

Super glad Rick is still involved.

I wish Rick luck with his new venture... Just hope this isn't the trend for all Kioti dealers.

bobcat and kioti are one in the same, but bobcat can sell them cheaper, that really gripes my dealer, he says kioti is starting to sell a lot of tractors and the are getting the big head and putting demands on thier dealers. and he can't sell his kiotis the same price and make anything like the same tractor as the bobcat. and every quarter kioti want the dealers to buy tractors and to get a discount they try to get them to buy certain models that are new to the line up. this area i live in can support smaller machines from 40 horsepower on down. the utillity vehicles don't sell because of the cost. on the other hand the cub cadet utility vehicles sell like hot cakes, and the cub cadet mowers out sell the husquvarna by 10 to 1. he's looking to add TYM tractors to his line because he sees kioti being troublesome in the future and he's the kind of guy that will tell them where they can stick it if they get to big for thier briches it pays to be a multi franchise dealer these day, and not rely on one brand. you never know when they'll crap on you.

The tractors are basically the same machines (some differences particularly with loader and backhoe), but the companies, Kioti and Bobcat, totally separate.

Don't even know what I was really thinking about at work the other day, but for some reason it came across my mind that somehow the Bobcat/Kioti deal played a part in Wallace no longer being involved with Kioti.

The Daedong and BobCat thing, is that just they are the tractor supplier at the moment, untill a better priced one comes along? or did Daedong:confused2: buy into Bobcat?

I think it had more to do with the size and numbers that Rick was selling, and that the white tractors more closely meet what he was selling. meaning he may not have been selling as may large tractors as Kioti was demanding he sell.

Having large tractors sit on the lot does not generate profit

I thinks it's more like "can't beat em, join em". Rick sees the writing on the wall and it says go BC.

Now all they have to do is paint them something other than white. :D I looked at Bobcat before buying my Kioti and just could not wrap my head around a white tractor. (plus they wanted more $$ for the Bobcat)

I know what you mean. However, we have had "White" David Browns and Case tractors in the past and they still look pretty well over time. I thought someone in this discussion mentioned Bobcat being less expensive? Maybe not? Ken Sweet

If this was the case there are going to be a lot of Kioti dealers loosing their Kioti tractors.

This was not the case we had more than twice the market share in our area of responsibility.

It was not our choice to give up Kioti but it was our choice to pursue Bobcat after we received our letter from Kioti.

This was almost 2 years ago. Still have the Bobcat quote. :)
Very happy with my CK35, got 213 hours on it in about 22 months.
Got this :tractor: for my birthday in June 2008 from my wife :D

AND AMY! :):D:thumbsup:

That goes without saying.

Could you imagine how business would be if the first thing one was to see upon entering the dealership was Rick???

Yikes......

We all know who's got the brains.

Thank goodness he can at least weld though.

I to am glad to see Rick around, did not think he could drop Kioti & TBN friends all together, but is he selling Daedong product or BobCat, and if its BobCat, will it be Daedong next year as supplier, or dindong or wangdon:confused2:, so is Rick connection Daedong product Karma or luck. And how does Kioti fit in with Daedong, does Daedong own Kioti? how do they fit in with BobCat? would nice to know how it all fits together.:D:confused::confused3:

Very odd that Kioti would chase away one of its best dealers. Would like to hear the reasoning behind that one. Anyway, their loss and BC's gain. Glad you are still involved with basically the same tractors. I think you'll do even better with BC because that product line brings with it all their other great equipment (I presume you will be selling that too).

Change is scary, but sometimes it's for the best.

BTW, I know white is one of the best colors for longevity. But, I too don't like the way it looks on that tractor. The orange is way purtier.

I got my filter kit from Wallace for my DK40SE .. maybe I was the last "Kioti" sale he made? Could it be something I said? <grin>

But seriously, Rick, I hope you put the same kit's up for the Bobcats it worked GREAT! If you put the filter kits on the website, can you say "Fits Kioti xx" or will they get their panties in a bunch over that?

Also, how much for a toothbar for a Kioti 401 loader ... are they FREE now?

Carry on,
Phill
