So I am just wondering what other people are paying for 60" 3pt finish mowers. I bought my tractor last fall and am now looking for a mower. In the fall they wanted almost 3000 bucks from the dealer to get me one now they are at 2600, while the cheapest I've found is 2000 for a Buhler Farm King model. All of these are new. I saw have yet to find anything used in Saskatchewan for a Rear discharge. Montana and North Dakota are close enough but I don't see quite a big enough savings to warrant the drive.

So is 2 grand really what people are paying for 60" finish mowers these days or should I be able to find something for less?

RFM's aren't cheap by any means. That $2000 minumum is more then I expected (I expected around $1500-$1700).
I suggest you keep an eye on Craig's List...but move fast when you see one as they sell fast.
You could also ask your dealer to contact you if a used one comes on his lot.
Other places to look are Used Farm & Agricultural Equipment - John Deere MachineFinder and Used Tractors at TractorHouse.com: John Deere Tractors, used farm tractors and farm equipment, Case IH, New Holland, Agco, Caterpillar.

Land Pride and Woods are in the top 5, when I was looking for a 72" RFM with rear discharge the going price here in upstate New York was around $3000.But that was last years price and as we all know It will be higher this year.

No Roy, Made in Italy by the same company(Sicma) that makes stuff for JD. If I ever am caught selling a implement made in China or Turkey, I want someone to put me in a padded cell and lock the door. Ken Sweet

Read somewhere that the majority of gearboxes, regardless of brand, are now made in China, due to labor assembly costs, I guess.

I picked this 60" Dark Horse up last month for $700 new. It is an absolute, part for part clone of the KK. Some have suggested built in China for King Kutter, on their patterns, or at least as a clone. It is pretty darn good. No complaints, especially not for the price. I priced a Woods at my dealer, at his cost, to clear it out, was still twice the money. No doubt a better mower, but.....

Spend the dime. I bought a King Kutter 60" side discharge for $1000 at Tractor Supply. What a piece of junk. I had it 3 seasons and spent $800 on replacement parts. I sold it for $400 on Craigs List and was happy to get out from under it.

I then bough a Caroni 72" rear discharge and in 4 seasons now I have only lost 1 bolt. Cost $.10 to fix and was my fault. Its so trouble free I forget to check things over. It was more money but money well spent.

You do know that Buhler/Farmking is owned and controlled by a Russian Company. That Is a lot to pay for a Russian product made in another country? Buhler is in the changing all their implements to the Farmknig name. No more Buhler or Allied. Ken Sweet

I purchased a Buhler 60" rear discharge finishing mower last June for $1700.(tax included) Seems to be well built. The only problem I have had with it is the cheap stick-on brand name decals are peeling off. I use it with my 3005 and love it.

Woods makes a great product.
If you buy new, shop around. You will learn quickly, what the right price is.
Be cautious on used equipment. It may cost half the new price, but if its worn out, what value does it have?
As my Rep in Singapore wonce told me... "Cheap, No Good... Good No Cheap"".

Good luck!

Well I did a little more phoning turns out that out of 4 different places - 3 being JD, Massey, NH - they all sell the Farm King mower - its like they all got together in town and bought in bulk - prices range up from the 2000 to about $2300 for the same thing.

I have found one dealer who sells Landpride and I'm waiting on a price from them, I know it will be more, but I'm pretty sure that it will last forever! Also found someone who sells that Caroni that was mentioned right now with no discussions his price was 1900 so we'll see what it comes out at after we chat.

Sorry Ken not interested in a 72" its a little too big for the spaces I have to go through.

That is perfectly understandable. We are temp. out of the 5 ft machines. All we have are the 4 ft and 6 ft. The 4 ft are on special clearance priced at $895. Same brand, just some older inventory. Ken Sweet
