Montana Loader Rpms ?

On my 300dtc - what is the max safe rpms I can run? Mostly when trying to lift something heavy with the loader. I think the PTO rated rpms are around 2500 or so but the rpm gauge goes up past that but I don't see any type of 'redline' or unsafe zone. Any suggestions on insights?? The reason why I'm asking is that the round bales of hay we purchase are only approx 1,200 to 1,400 lbs. The specs for my loader I believe is that it can lift up to 1,7xx lbs but it almost struggled a bit lifting them off of the trailer. I was running the rpms at pto rated speed. Do I need to bump up the rpms a bit more for more lifting power???

That seems like a small tractor to be handling big rounds. Where is the loader rated at 1700 lbs, the pins or two feet ahead of the pins? The ratiing ahead of the pins is more important because thats' near where the center of gravity of the load is. If it's 1700 at the pins you can bet it is less AT 2 FT AWAY. You maybe blowing open the relief valve. generally increasing the pump speed will cause the load to move faster because it increases the flow. The pressure will be limited by the relief pressure. Look at your oners manual or talk to the dealer about the lifting capability.
