YM1500D Starter

Does anyone know what starter was used on this tractor and how many teeth on the pinion gear?, I want to replace the china made after market peice of junk on it when I bought it.My manual for the YM1500D with 2TR15 motor has starter part 124060-77010, I think made by Hitachi S144-203 with 9 teeth.A manual for the YM135/155 lists S144-203 starter for 2TR13A motor and for the 2T73A motor Hitachi S114-219 or Yanmar#124060-77011.My YM 1401D with 3T72 motor has Hitachi S114-219 with 11 teeth.The YM169 using the same 3T72 motor uses Hitachi S114-230 starter. Has any one figured any of this out?

YM1500 starter should have 11 teeth.

Thanks for your reply bruce1966us.I have a choice between a rebuilt Hitachi S203 with 9 teeth and a S114-230 with 11teeth.I guess the S114-230 would be a better chioce.

why don't you take yours and get it rebuild at repair shop. I have had dozens of them rebuild for less than $100.

The red YM1500 came with the S114-230 starter, you can use the S114-219 or the S114-203 with 11 teeth. I always put the S114-230 on, unless the customer want to use one of the others.
