Just heard from friend down the street today who wants to sell a Woods BH750 backhoe to me.
I believe it's a mid 80's model. He had it on back of an older Ford tractor that was smaller than my Kubota B3030 HSDCC when he got it. It's now on a Kubota, possibly an L3400, I can't remember exactly.
Anyway, what's a unit like this worth if in decent shape? Will I be able to get it onto my 3 point without interference from the cab?

Anyone? He's got a price of $2k firm on it. Worth the price if it's in any kind of shape?

I don't know if it will interfere with your cab but the price is great if its in good shape. Used BH attachments usually go in the 4-5K price range. There is a few in the swap sheet right now but I don't want to pay that much because I'd have to buy a PTO pump and build a subframe for my tractor. If I add in the cost for that I might as well buy a new one with the subframe and pump so your 2K price would look great to me..

You mention putting it onto your 3 pt hook up. I've been told a backhoe without a sub frame is just plain a bad idea.

The pump is included with the unit. I don't believe the thing has ever had a subframe on it. I've never seen one when it was on his Ford or Kubota. I know that it's got it's own stabilizers but that's about it.
With me, the unit certainly wouldn't be getting any heavy duty use.

Send me a PM if you decide not to buy it because I would be interested.
Thanks

I have a 750 Woods 3 point hitch. Its a great machine..Sounds like it should be worth the money to me Look for cracks and welds as usual.
The PTO pump is also a good plus.
Ive read the horror story about the sub frames. I think they would be nice but is run at 'normal' than I wouldnt see a problem. I haven't had any in 28 years.. And I have overworked it a few times.
With the PTO pump you can run it at slower engine RPM s and still get the power, and regulate the speed a little bit more.
I even bent the dipper rod once. just enough so I put it into a press and re-bent it back.
But like you say light duty is how you'll use it.. Id really look into getting it. I paid 4000 new for mine in the 80's and have more than paid for it..

I have a used 750 3pt with pump on my L3430. It also came off a ford. Somewhere I have most of the ford's subframe that came with it. Totally different than what the Kubota needs.

I treat the 3pt with great respect and have never had the pump up to 540rpm.
I paid a whole lot more for it used than you will.

I believe the current 4 point frame that fits the L kubota will work with the old750. Years ago I got a quote for 1K for that frame. I can't help with the cab question with regards to clearance nor subframe options. I did a quick scan on Woods and don't see the B3030 with or without a cab.

One hose replaced, numerous zerks, rotation chain is tight but is looking a bit rough.
I intend to keep it for many years to come.

It was expensive for me, but the look on my wife's face when I find something new to tear up.... priceless... :)

The price is right, so if its in decent shape you wouldn't have any trouble getting your money back on it. As far as interfering with the cab........ definite possibility. The subframe for our tractors is 6" longer than the subframe for the open station tractors. The current subframe will not work on the 750 without some fab work..... but they do work on the 7500 hoes.
