I've posted about selling my 790 for an upgrade, but was wondering if anyone had input on where I need to be price wise. I listed it high, I think, at 16500. But I had to see what the interest level was. Had some tire kickers come by but no real offers. I have a month to do this , before the new iron arrives. As a fail safe I could trade it but that means under 14. This thing is in great shape, lives inside and only has 224 hours on it. Has 70 loader and a 7 backhoe with it. Thanks for any advice. JK

If you have a 70 loader on it, you have an early 2000's 790...no newer then 2003. $16K might be a bit high to move it, even with the 7 backhoe.
Anyway, get some prices from Used Farm & Agricultural Equipment - John Deere MachineFinder and tractorhouse to get you in the ballpark. Remember, the prices on those sites are dealer prices and you're not going to see that.
If you want to move it fast, $14K sounds good.

You might do better selling the backhoe seperately.

Thanks for the input Roy! Your right it's a 2001. And I hate to get rid of it (kinda thought I'd keep it til it was toast). But this deal is too good to pass up, My father is hooking me up. 2004 4310,bucket, backhoe 450 hours for 16k. And actually today I had two serious buyers contact me, not tire kickers. Both did not balk at 16. Told them 15,500 cash takes it. So we will see. No green money yet. But I have a month or more until the 4720 is delivered and dod needs the cash.

If your buyer doesn't want that backhoe....let me know. I'd likely take it off your hands.:D:licking: OTOH....I too have considered upgrading to a hydro tractor (3032e) and figured my 790/70 w/ 380 hours would fetch about $11,000 - or so. (I think you would be doing REAL good at your prices shown....but I am unsure what a used hoe is worth)

I really don't NEED to upgrade.....but I like new and shiney....and hydro.

This is right down the road- well kinda- It is about 2.5 hours away-For Wyoming that is in the neighborhood-

If anyone is interested I will be in Casper next week and I would be willing to look at the tractor- for anyone that may have interest.

Let me know

If anybody in the New Hampshire area is in the market for a 790 my sister is selling my late brother in laws machine. I know it is an early 2000 model. I am going to guess around an 01 / 02. It has lived all it's current life in the carriage house. It has approx. 160 hours, comes with loader, backhoe, brushog, owners manuals etc. It is going on the market with a price in the 15K range.

Am I missing something here?
Are you replacing the 790 with a 4310 and later getting a 4720?

Will be curious if you get the 15.5k for the 790. Wish you luck. :)

Was that one of the CL scams? A price too good to be true?

He's getting the 4310 since it's being replaced by a 4720 (his father (I think) currently owns the 4310 and is buying the 4720). That was in another thread concerning selling the 790.

Sorry for the delay. Roy is correct, my father is upgrading to a 4720 and I am buying his 4310. I sold the 790 on Saturday. I got 15,500 for tractor loader and backhoe. It had 225 hours on it, and was very clean. I sold it too fast, 4720 won't be in until the end of the month. Pop needs a tractor more than me, so I wait. Empty feelin, not havin my tractor

Thanks trails. I will post some pics of the new baby once I get home. Already caught myself starting to do something then realizing oh yeah no tractor. Oh well. Funny how things are taken for granted.
