Tractor
Yanmar 187D Terramite T5C Bush Hog D4-10
Hey guys ...tractor arrived safely thanks to my guy Brian from Lexington, VA. If you need something delivered in this region I highly recommend him....he did a good job in a tough environment - delivering my tractor out of PA through DC.....finally to me today.

No leaks on floor of trailer was a good sign. Starts up quickly which based on the threads here is a good sign as well. Tractor came in as expected and want to thank my sales rep Randy at West Central Equipment for doing a great job representing it. Would do business with these guys again in a heart beat.

I have the original sales brochure for the 180 and 187 if anyone is interested will try to scan it.

See pics below......I will now need to do more research to decide what I have to keep on hand for up keep etc...any suggestions will be appreciated but pretty sure there are many threads on this.

My fuse box cover is gone and the area is covered with tape??? any chance I can find a box cover with the guys who support this site??

Now to locate a 4' bush hog and blade....let the work begin!

Glad it all came together for you Scott.

Congratulations! I want one, it's gorgeous!

That is more different from YM186D than I expected. Your transmission tunnel is near flat and it looks longer compared to YM186D. This must make it much easier to dismount. My YM186D has column shift but the guts for the Powershift are still on top of the transmission so I need to raise my foot as high as the seat cushion to dismount. If the shift lever were sticking up there too, (early YM186D), it seems to me one would need a cheerleader's kick to clear the shifter. Plus your footpads look long enough to have two feet on at the same time.

I want one! :)

Hang in there Ron there are still good deals out there to be had, you have a better idea of what to look for now. Seeing what sacsr came up with,I bet your not feeling all that bad about passing on the Bogus 1510D;)

Very nice!! Boy does it ever look long. Wonder how that affects the turning radius? Those rear tires are HUGE!

Yes getting you foot up and over the center shift is sometimes a bit of a trick.

Sure looks worth every penny of that $4200, they gave it to you pretty much.

That is a nice looking tractor. I must ask about the back tires. They ought to have great traction based on width but they look a little small diameter for that tractor. Probably not but if so your 4 wheel drive could be put in a bind because of ratio problems. Good luck with it. I'm jealous too!

I was thinking the front tires look small. My similar YM186D calls for 5x15 front tires. A former gray-market seller commented that the 5.00-15 fronts on it now are slightly taller than the original 5x15 and those two sizes aren't the same.

Here's a photo:

Sacsr, what size tires are on it? Do they match the owner's manual weight (and tires) chart that Aaron posted recently?

Tire sizes are 6-12 on front and 12.4-16 on rear...these do show up as an option for this model.....R1 tires.

Expecting to get a little snow tonight. But I got it covered up till I can make some room in my shop. Would not want it to get wet :D

Think I may have found my implements....

1 42 bush hog
1 scraper blade
1 post hole digger (2 bits)

Pretty sure it is less than 3-4 years old....

For $1000 sound like a fair deal for both of us??

Stock sizes for the 186D are, front - 6 x 12 , rear - 9.5 x 16 .

Nice find on the tractor! You got a great price on it. I live in PA and rarely see a good running tractor with a loader in this price range. I'm a bit biased too, cause I have a 187D also. You're gonna love your new machine, and the tires look like mine also. I've often wondered if my tires were properly sized, as the rears seem to be smaller and wider than many other models. And yes, the traction is good with those tires. If you start spinning in 4wd, you are probably somewhere you shouldn't be.:D

You are right!

I went out in the rain and looked. 6.00 - 12 is what is on my YM186D while the manual calls for '6 - 12'. Dave of Dave's tractors who used to import grays before he became the Mahindra distributor, told me the 6.00 I have is slightly taller than the 6-12 that were factory original. Sorry about my mistaken 5.00 x 15. That is what is on the YM240.

My YM186D has 9.5 - 15 rears as it should.

Sorry for the confusion.

California, curious to know if the 186D does the job you hoped it would. I can't say enough about mine. I'd like to come across a deal like that 187D, $4200 is a real bargain .

Yes!

But nothing I've used it for so far tests it to the limit. One example is hauling around a harvest trailer like in this first picture which is pretty light use, in fact I occasionally pulled that trailer down into the orchard with the Subaru in the past.

This clearly pulls the trailer uphill in soft (disced) ground better than the Subaru but nothing like the YM240.

It came with a light back blade
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...essure-no-bad-p1540082rcarringtonterracer.jpg
and it works well with that, but so far I've only tried grading cultivated ground which isn't much of a test. And of course the small size is ideal for pulling the 4 ft rotary mower among the decorative trees near the fence line, it is far better than the larger tractor for that.

One weakness compared to the YM240 is that its 3-point seems jumpy; with a light touch it raises more than I intended.

I would say this is an excellent complement to my larger tractor, a lot more convenient, but it doesn't replace it.

And yes I am envious too of Sacsr's $4200 deal!!!

Nice Tractor!!! But then I'm partial to the Yanmars. I have a 1610D that I bought last year and I love it. I have no doubt you're going to get some good use out of it. ENJOY!!!
