Anyone in stall this kit (B7311) the 40 amp alternator upgrade? Put it in yesterday, and I've got no alternator output..

I'm on the 3rd alternator after assuming the problem was there, But still no juice...The wiring harness is straight forward and with the molex plastic connectors there is no way to connect them wrong...As the dealer tried to tell me I did..

The only thing left is the new relay included with the kit. I guess I'll have to swap that out next...Or maybe a 4th Alternator?

Argh!!!!

Any insite / problems if you have the kit..

Thanks..

Need more to the story. does the oringinal alt work ?

sorry to say - but it kinda weird. Are you sure you have the right part for upgrade ? i'm thinking that the regulator is missing in the new alts. before you take it back, take to your local car parts store and have then run it in the alternator testing box. most of them do it for free. IF it runs fine, chances are there is a mixup and has wrong pin outs for wiring reverse polarity. If it dead, then the regulator must be missing on it or you didnt install it yet.

Where did you find the kit? It is my understanding from Messicks that the kit was discontinued a good while back.

You may want to use the relay that came with the kit as the dynamo reg under the dash is a different setup

I got the kit from my local Kubota dealer, MB Tractor...$180...

I have metered the wiring harness and all wires are good, I have metered and by passed the 50 amp fuse. (saw a thread about a bad fuse)..

tried to bench test my 3rd alt today but most auto parts store don't have references for tractor parts...so no go there....

There is NO way to install this kit wrong...My sister could do it...and she is an idiot sevant!!!!

Either I have had 3 bad alternators, the relay is bad, or the wiring harness was assembled wrong, (there is no wireing schematic for this kit that shows the integration to the tractor).

I will be at my dealer tomorrow 8 am when they open!!!!

There are no prints..

Obviously people are not getting the idea here..Its a plug and play set up...No room for error...The wiring harness can only connect one way...so it boils down to a bad alternator (tried 3) a bad wiring harness (I've check ALL continuity) A bad harness assembled wrong by kubota (wont know till I talk to the dealer) a bad fuse (by passed the fuse and still not working ) or a bad relay (will swap that out tomorrow)....

Problem Solved!!!

The Ring terminal going to the starter had a bad crimp..The terminal was crimped OVER the wrie jacket, so there was no continuity.. I had checked the smaller wiring harness/ connector for continuity but didn't think the 10G wire would need it...

Oh well.

So 14 amps to the battery and 40 amp alternator running great. Just need to finish installing the rest of the lights!!!!

Glad you found the problem
With the prints it would be easier to help you trouble shoot the problem other wise we are guessing.

An old pro told me to never overlook the obvious
I would not have looked there as it was original wiring wasn't it?
