I have weird feet. It's hard to find good shoes that work for me.

About ten years ago I found a pair of Georgia Boot brand 8" high lace up logging boots that I really like. I bought a pair and kept the box. I still have the original pair, but most of the steel toe is now showing. I replaced them about 5 years ago with another pair of the same boot. I took the box in to the farm store where I bought the original pair, and they pulled the same boot of the shelf. Since I still had my receipt, they even sold them to me at the old price (about $20 off).

On Tuesday I went to the same farm store with the same box and found the last pair in my size on the clearance rack. The good news is that I bought this last pair for less than I paid for the original pair. The bad news is that they are closing out this style of boot.

Now I have to start the search all over again for a good boot that I like.

What is the style number and size you're looking for?

Sears use to sell a boot, it was green, i can't remember the name of it, but it was the same way, i went thru 3 pairs till they quit handling them: haven't found a boot anywhere near as comfortable or as water proof as those were: hope you have better luck than i did finding your brand.. seems like they called the green colored boots "ted williams" or something like that

Was that the Upland Kangaroo hunting boots???

"ted williams" was the sears house brand of stuff made for them by other mfg.. I have a ted williams semi-auto .22 rifle that was made by Winchester for Sears..

I can totally relate. About 12-15 years ago I had worn out my third or forth pair of Herman Survivors. These were high quality, excellent wearing and made in U.S.A. I went to my local shoe store to get another pair and was told that they wern't made any longer. Well, I figured this was just my luck and went back to the Redwings that I had wore before.

A couple of months later I am in walmart and see hundreds of boxes of Herman Survivors and I get excited.

The excitment didn't last long. Now these boots were cheaply made and from another country. The boot that once cost me $150 was now around $40 and wasn't worth that.

I guess they got outsourced just like everything else.

I used to wear Herman Survivors. Very hard to find. They got too cheap for me also. I buy Red Wing now. These are the best and most comfortable boots I have ever owned.

Interesting recall of Georgia G8322 Boots.

Online store for Georgia G8322 Boots.

If you liked them enough to lament their not being available, you might consider getting a pair for the future.

Sounds like it's time to start looking for a different boot.

I called the number in that recall notice, and no one there had any idea what I was talking about. They did tell me that the boot is officially discontinued.

I've been on hold with CPSC now for about 10 minutes so that I can check the validity of the bulletin. The recall doesn't affect me much since I've never planned on the boots insulating me from an electric shock, but I was hoping that I could maybe get my oldest pair exchanged. That would be a handy stroke of good luck.

With my luck, though, I'll just die on hold.
