What do you wish you'd bought?

/ What do you wish you'd bought? #21
As I think I posted in my first post.

I should have goten my tractor, A LONG TIME AGO!!! The years of back breaking work and agony with a shovel, push mower, little Garden tractor... thinking I could do what I needed and and not being able to... POS!

10 yrs of hard work wasted, I've done more in the last 2+ years with my B7800 than I could have done in my lifetime without it.

I got the implement I needed and asked arround enough to know what I needed, now I'm just adding tools/attachements to the collection and making my life "the life of easy street".

Now who makes a "Painting" attachement for a tractor.... painted 1/2 the house over the w/e and man what a PITA! Still 1/2 to go..... ARG>

Get a good-quality airless paint sprayer -- not the cheapest one from a box store, go several steps up. Then get the extension wand.

I am not going to say this makes it easy, because it doesn't. It does make it faster.

CurlyDave,

Yup got a 2gal 1/2 hp model with 25' hose.... made fast work of the over color... it's the "TRIM" and window's and door jams....and ..... and ....

It will end soon... should finish this w/e.

Now when will that new tractor Tool/Implement/attachement arrive....??

:D:D:D

should have bought the big tractor first. Like the little one, but the big one plus a ZTR would have been a better combo for me.

SHould have bought either one earlier!

My tractor is a really good tractor, but if I had do overs, I would probably get a cab model. It gets hot here in Texas.

cobdoc,

I feel your obsession over the cab thing, I have always wanted one as well, Look into building one, it has been a big job but will be worth it.

Should have added Top & Tilt to 3PH when I first purchased. Moving more rock right now with pallet forks on the back.........V E R Y slow process without T&T. Have to get on & off the tractor 50 times just to move one rock in the right position. Very schtupit. Kicking myself. :(:(:(

I think most of wish we'd bought the next size bigger tractor.... if we had then we'd probably wish for one bigger than that. lol
I choose my L2800 because I have tons of Oak trees with low limbs that I needed to get under.... in that circumstance, most of the time it's still too big.. <sigh>

UGH, so many "what if-s" in my equipment purchases over the years

Pickup: should have got DRW 1-ton instead of 1-ton SRW
Backhoe: good to go, no serious regrets.
Dumptruck: should have got Allison auto instead of stick.
Utility tractor: I had a shot at an Kubota M4900 shuttle shift for $19,000 with FEL & 4x4, cab. Instead I bought my Agco/Challenger hydro 4x4 FEL cab fro $14,500. I like the Agco/Challenger, but I decided I dislike Hydrostatic transmissions. I like the shuttle shift better and the Kubota was heavier duty. The problem came down to money. The $4,500 savings paid for other implements.

Heh, I have hit the "let's go bigger" wall. Started out with a NH TC24 went to a 30 then a 55; now have a M7040. Which is a bit large for 80% of my usage, but the looks I get from neighbor when I mow my mother's 3 acre yard with it are worth the bit of hassle :D

How long does it take to get her yard mowed, and how often? Time is of the essence.

Whilst I'm well satisfied with the NH 1920 I've got left (having disposed of the 9N, 1710, 3415, and JD 350-B), I's still like to have a JD 1010 with PTO & 3-Pt. That would enable me to mow some places along the shore that are too questionable for a tractor, and it would be a pretty neat rig.

If I use the RM990 and the 7040 I have the bulk done in about hour twenty. Getting out the little JD lawn tractor for finish trimming adds about another half hour/ forty five minutes.

For me like most i wish i would have went a little larger.
3520 vs 2520 with a cab. winter's are too dang cold up here.
trouble for me is it's also my lawn mower and a cab tractor makes a bad lawn mower too many branches to hit.
This one is pretty much paid for than i start begging the wife for another one to add to the line up with a cab. tractor buying is almost i sickness i think. :D

I should have gotten the rear remote. I really don't need it, but you never know and it would have been the easiest to do it at time of purchase.

You ain't just whistling dixie !! :D

When you have tractoritis you are sick, but it is possible to recover, although the recovery rate is less than 10%.:( But when you are a tractorholic, your done, there is no hope,:D it is best to accept it and to work with it the best that you can. That usually includes buying a lot of implements and maybe a tractor or two, or three, or? Even when there is no reason, you still buy, and buy, and, well you get the picture.

So for those of us that have this dastardly sickness, may we be blessed with each and every purchase.;)

Good luck to each and every one of us, we need it.

a 10 acre parcel of land, well at the price they were 15 years ago, I should have bought two. Today, would have cashed out 7 figures. But I was young and cheap.

Oh, this was about tractors... :)
