Thanks for all the comments!
It does have the 7' bucket and it is very wide. I took the loader off to mow the place yesterday afternoon/this morning but not before playing in the dirt with the loader. BB, you are right about being careful. I almost side swiped the barn yesterday with it!!!
The mower is a Woods DS96. It was bought last year and the M8540 hardly knows it is back there. I put a box blade on today with the teeth and started pulling some dirt! This tractor will pull!! Then it started raining so I had to quit.
I bought the weights because we have a 100 acres of rolling pasture/hills to keep cut. Wasn't sure how lightfooted on the front the 8540 would be. I have several jobs lined up for it around the place, most of which is moving dirt with a box blade and the bucket. I had a lot of topsoil pushed up for a new barn lastyear. Want to move the dirt to fill in a dry pond and do some leveling on the place. The 7' bucket will come in handy for that!
My wife does not have a sister, sorry! Glad I got her before somebody else did. She's very supportive of my tractor habit.

Congrats Davidsan. So why didn't you get the M Power Krawler? :)

Can someone tell me why the front wheels on M-series are so much larger than other models in K's line up, like the L series? Is it simply because its a bigger tractor (larger front axle) ?

I'd love to see on of the M Power Krawler's in person!! No dealers around here carry them.

Maybe someone with more knowledge than I can answer your question about the wheels. I sure like the big wheels on the front as it allows an avenue for that horsepower to get to ground. Also makes me feel a little more stable on hillsides (probably just a mental thing). Hence the reason I went with a little bigger tractor than what I needed.

I suppose if the dealer isn't carrying the Power Krawler, I probably can't afford it. :)

I have little experience with tractors as well but like you, it seems the little "Hot Wheels" 'size tires on the front of many tractors feel a bit inadequate for using a tractor on hills and in light forestry work.
