I probably would not have said anything to the dealer if it weren't for the displacement difference. If it were only the horsepower that was different on the label you could chalk it up to same engine, new label. You can't argue with displacement. 1.29 vs 1.39 L isn't a huge difference, but every little bit counts when you have the 225 and not the 230 or 235.

I gave all this info to the tampa area rep for bobcat, Its under review. I told him I saw the 27hp advertised, my sales guy said it was a 27hp and the brochure I was given said 27hp. I wanted a 27hp tractor. So we just wait..
The rep had no idea there was a hp change at all. Everyone seemed quite clueless. Even the parts guy sold me the wrong hydro fluid. (I'm coming up on 50 hrs). I really hate to change it before this issue is decided but I may have no choice. btw a 2 1/2 jug of hydro was 53.15!
I told my salesman to visit here.

I still have the 25 HP machine. Instead of taking this one back and swapping parts over to the new one he just told me to keep this one until they get all the parts for the new one to be spec'd to my liking (they are waiting on parts). We were waiting on rear hydros for the one I had anyway and this way they can drop off a tractor and pick one up rather than tote them back and forth to transfer everything to the new one. The hour meter just keeps ticking up. I think that they are OK with this as I bought this one of their lot, but they also ordered me one while the discount was active on the 225 (I didn't know this until I talked to them about getting a replacement). From their perspective, the one I am using has a $3500 credit on, so even used they probably won't get bit on it.

well my local dealer just told me to suck it up and live with it (the 25hp) since they gave me such a great deal! I said I do feel as if I got a good deal, however I thought I was getting a 27 hp tractor, Your salesman said it was 27 and its not. I would like the 27 hp version or some adjustment on this one. I'm talking to the franchise owner today and Bobcat directly after that.

Good luck, I hope that they own up to it. It would be like going to get a 5.7L Toyota Tundra and being given a 4.7L and having the dealer saying, c'mon its still a V8!

They delivered my new CT225 today. This one is the 27 HP model as I had initially thoughr I was receiving. The one I was originally given was 25 HP and seemed pretty well beaten up when I got it. There were 8 hours on it and it had some rust. I am glad that the dealer made it right. This one came from the manufacturer and had all the options already on it including the rear remotes that I was waiting for on the one they first had given me. Now its time to rack up the hours on this one!

That's good to hear! No matter what brand tractor you have, a good dealer makes it even better.

glad to hear they manned up on the tractor

I know I would be glad and relieved

Glad you got the right tractor. Ive talked to my dealer and the owner of the local bobcat franchise (4 stores) and finally the bobcat district manager.
I'm still waiting for their decision. Meanwhile I'm at 44 hrs. I'm going to ask them to pay for the 50 hr service on "Their" tractor. On a funny note, the bobcat franchise owner told me "their are no bobcat 225's left in the wild".

well good luck! the dealer i bought my original machine from apparently sold me one off their lot but had also ordered one during the rebate program in my name. my thoughts are they were going to put it on the lot at the regular price and make a better profit by pocketing the rebate. by the time i realized i had a 25 HP machine, they still hadn't received the 225 that they had ordered in my name.

if your dealer doesn't have a machine, i question whether or not they will take that big of a hit on the deal. unless Bobcat corporate will discount a replacement machine for them. i hope it works out for you. if it makes you feel any better, my new tractor starts a lot rougher than the old one! hopefully that improves before winter.

I got the call late yesterday, Bobcat is replacing the tractor! They found one and are shipping it in from Oklahoma. They are equiping it with the rear pto and back hydraulics. my tractor came with them, I did not order them so I was never charged. My current tractor does seem underpowered , I got stuck in a trench, I could not back out even with 4wd and the lock engaged. My neighbor pulled me out with his compact kubota and finished the dig for me. my tractor burns a little more than 1 gal/hr. It has recently started creeping at a stop and shifts ranges very hard. and despite a nice coat of wax :D and being stored indoors its starting to rust here and there.
I'll be glad to get a new tractor!

Good to hear. You may even notice a slight DECREASE in power with your new 225. The one they took back from me had almost 30 hours on it and was nice and broke in. The new one came with 1 hour on it and clearly needed to get some hours under its belt before it would work hard.

Its kinda funny. The first 225 I received had obviously been sitting on the lot for a while. It had some rust and some dents and scrapes plus any of the goofs that I did to it. So I was excited to get a new one even though soon enough it will look the same. I guess its life way of teaching me a lesson though, the new tractor starts rough (maybe it will get better) and the loader hoses are so short that I sometimes can't attach them without bypassing the hose hook on the loader. Overall I am happy though because this is what I had thought I was buying.
