3320 HP question

I had a 3320 open station and traded it about 2 years ago for a 3720 cab. Not based on feedback, but just knowing the A/C, etc. would take a few HP when I wanted a cab I decided I'd get a 3520 or 3720.
With a cab you've got the A/C compressor, a bigger alternator compared to the open station models. These will take some HP (I don't know how much) over the Open station.
I never tilled, but running a 5' brush hog (LX6) occassionally it had plenty of power. I think I could have slowed it down if I was cutting heavy stuff all day. Mostly I was cutting either very woody stuff (That I went very slow through) or 3' high grass/weeds. I finish mowed a lot with the 72" MMM and it had plenty of power for that also. Again, this was the OS and not the cab unit.
Also if you get the cab your only option is the hydro. I love the hydro's but they do take more power than the standards, especially under load or up hill.

I use a 72" tiller with my AC on for long periods with no problems. I can dip the RPM's if I try to go to fast, but I don't think having the AC on or not really takes much power away from the tractor. (I am sure it takes some but I don't notice it)

Not to mention, even if it took 2x as long to complete the job, at least your out of the sun, listening to your favorite tunes, in the A/C'ed goodness of the JD Cab.

- Many over the years, + '05 JD-4410 TLB, but quite proud of my big green "Rolls": AKA: 2006 JD-3520 Cab, HST, Tunes & 2-way tiltmeter, Cobra communications and 6" (x2) rear wheel spacers for a lot less pucker-factor!!
.....Steamin' hard and steady, many ten hour days, month after month, engine on high, A/C mainly on low, occassionally higher. Two-way communication is portable and tunes are MP-3 with head-phones, so no power drain from that, but after dark, all deck and running lights on etc, . . . . . never noticed any problems. I run a JD 3520-Cab and aside from transport, I always engage Load-Match and MFWD most of the time, but, as stated, no related issues.

ALSO: ....I just noticed you mentioned mowing tall grass. Do you occassionally get out and clean your grill and rad screens? They have a tendency for building up and clogging with such as dandelion "fluff" etc and could be the cause of your overheating. That, of course can negatively affect power. Just an after thought,.....but might be important to you? You need a clean AIR "flo-thru".
Just a caution: "never" clean that area with a power washer! You likely already know this stuff, but doesn't hurt to remind you and others I guess?
