There is lots of knowledge about hydraulics around. Some of the people on TBN know quite a lot about the subject. There are hydraulic Cd's available on Ebay. There are the military courses on CD, and in books. If you type hydraulics in the search window, you will get thousands of listing. If you refine your search, you can read till your eyes hurt. You can teach your self by doing. and asking questions. Then there is the good old common sense about how things work.

Make your self a folder, both on the computer and a paper folder and print the hydraulic content of your choice.

Sometimes you have to prove it to yourself to know for a fact that things do work as stated.

thanks for the advice guys, I have two old pecan harvester made by lockwood. They are self propelled units that run off of hydraulics, 30hp wisconsin engine, and some kind of hydrostatic transmission. The hydraulic pump runs the front sweepers and cylinder for the rear stearing. I am not sure but I think is also powers the transmission. This is the main piece of equipment I will be working on. I will be posing questions in the future I am sure. Glad to see this is a friendly site.
