50 acres, carbon negative sustainable farm,
in process. Also, trying to break even in
5 years or less!

Also I believe the web link "http://indianpaintbrush.com" is not functioning, that is, it's Not Sustainable. ;)

I'm no expert but I quite aggree, the link is not sustainable.

Most likely a transplant from Cambridge, Ma or San Fran - I've heard they are actually not carbon based lifeforms (if they acknowledged they were they'd self destuct)

Just what I hear . .

Hopefully when you finally get there, there will be no need to come back. You have teebagged a few good people here.

Dave

Well said indeed!

"teebagged" :confused:

Ok this was a new one to me. So I googled 'teebag'. I can't believe ACHINBAC meant what I read (first page of links says it is a misspelling of teabag). Could you explain what teebagged means in this instance? And possibly refrain from using it (if google is right) or is it my ignorance, and googles search engine algorithm?

Go to NAPA. They have cross referenced for both my Kubota B8200, and my 1941 Farmall "A".

Tisco cross references both of my tractors too.

Otherwise, got to Kubota direct. There's even a couple dealers here on TBN. Carver has been great to work with in the past.

And, ask nicer...
I tried that before I made my original post.

Just wondering, doesn't a Kubota Tractor create more carbon (carbon monoxide)? Wouldn't a horse and plow be more carbon negative? But, only respond if you're an Expert.

hmmm, way off topic.
Using various carbon calculators, adding in my gasoline, diesel, lubricants, electricity, propane, pesticides and my agronomy methods, I am sequestering enough net carbon to allow Mr. Gore to stay in his Mansion. But not enough for the private jets he uses.

Your right your saving for others.
If your committed to play the carbon game Please cut back on the carbon as much as you can, do you really need the tractor?, or lights?, can you car pool with others, every little bit will help.
That way there can be more for me because I'm a Carbon slob just going about my life using what was meant for us to use. I even strive to waste it, I even look for ways to use more. Thank you for saving it for me and I mean that Thank you
Now doesn't that just seem silly, don't waste your time. For everything you save there is a million like me. So live your life the way you want.
The earth is getting cooler and warmer like it has for 4 billion years without the help of man. It's just a tax scam, and more funding for the scientists, mark my words.

But to your post,
Forget the other brand filter altogether.
If the filter is that hard to cross you should realize that maybe you should by a filter from Kubota, you can get them on line if your far from a dealer. otherwise you will be using a horse, saving even more for me.

Your right and you seem highly educated which you most likely are compared to me but I think that same kind of thinking can apply to going overboard on Carbon, Carbon credits etc. We can't even predict or change a local rain storm from happening three days out. Lets not make everyone poor and backwards in trying to change what's most likely the natural cycle of the whole earth. If the earth wants to get warmer it will. Just like it did back and fourth for 4 billion years.
I think it funny that a few people think they are powerful enough to change the climate of the earth, and others follow thinking it's the right thing to do. Start with the rain storm, first see if you can change a local rain storm from happening. It's really all about the money, this issues is a huge huge tax deposit. I don't want less for my retirement, money eaten up in taxes and inflated higher energy costs, living in the dark, saving money to be able to use my Kubota to move a rock all for some experiment, No thanks,
As for me
I'm all for the earth getting warmer , my summers will be longer, my heating bills will be lower, and I won't have to drive that far to get to the beach.:D
Man will adapt to the earth , the earth doesn't adapt to man.

Want to see some carbon released to the atmosphere? Wait for the next major Volcanic eruption. They make man's contribution insignificant.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off topic. but what the hay...
sorry the carbon is not the major pollutant from volcanos. It is various Sulphur compounds, SOx, HxS, etc., along with SiO2 dust particulants.

Look this global warming thing is more about social engineering than climate engineering IMO. The true advocates of global warming want the industrial countries to adjust their behaviour to support the the third world nations - Global Socialization clearly. What better way to control than by using energy. It also gets the people that are truly concerned about our ecology on board. It's a good thing to take care of our earth (it's the only one we got) but to what means?

When I worry about global warming... I get on my tractor and ride. Makes me feel better, doesn't get rid of the guilt, doesn't help the planet, but I feel better.

Sustainable, Carbon Negative, and Profitable
In Fannin County, Texas.
Principles:

Sustainable - multi-culture, or rotation culture, control pest via use of natural methods,
Carbon Negative - encourage the growth of native high-carbon-retention grasses and forbs
Profitable - multi-culture, organic fruits and vegetables, harvestable/forageable native grasses.

Specifics:

Land:
50 acres of ex cotton land along Cooper Creek in Fannin County. Soil and Fertility erosion typical for land "burn-out" by decades of cotton mono-culture. Post WWII, land either was left fallow or managed as forage for cattle. Approximately 20 acres was re-seeded in Dallas Grass, and Bermuda Grass. Sporadic locations of Johnson Grass, though it is not clear from the coverage if that was due to seeding or accidental spread from other land. Cattle raising ceased circa 1990. By 2003, 27-33 acres was unusable due to encroachment by Honey Locust, Cedar Elm, Bois D'Arc, Junipers (locally called "cedars"), and brambles. (Estimated from aerial photographs and DoA land-survey software). Large patches of Johnson Grass were expanding and prickly pear was common on all areas.
Facilities:
Cattle Barn was built in 1946, by E. C. Parker, from lumber available at that time. It is a textbook example of truss work using short length lumber. It is also a great source of ancient manure. There is a small concrete water box without a bottom.
Water:
There were two ponds. The top one was built circa 1979, and is mostly silted due to cattle destroying the shoreline. The lower one was built circa 1999, and is too small and shallow, running dry most summers, even "wet" summers.

Ok I give up please don't make me read anymore like I said your smarter then me. But I do stand by my statement.

Man will adapt to the earth , the earth doesn't adapt to man.

That's great just don't make me pay for it , this earth has seen much worse over the last 4,5 billion years then man can ever throw at it. And it did just fine without us.
No guilt here.
Get on my tractor and ride yes that is the best way to deal with global warming forget about it , the earth will do what it will do. we are just along for the ride whatever it is. Unless anybody can name one instance where mankind changed any part of the earth's climate that didn't happen before in time without man involved.
