My stock oil sensor went out when I broke off one of the electric connecting posts.
This happened when I was re-assembling the tractor after splitting it. I went to Napa and bought a mechanical oil gauge and finally installed it the other day.

I installed a "T" into the oil sensing port and put the stock sensor in one outlet. Then I used some 1/4 pipe extensions and a cut-off hydraulic hose to run up over the fuel tank (under the body) and over to the dash board. Drilled a couple holes for the mounting screws and hose and then plumbed it up.
I was also able to fix the stock sensor, so now I have 2 oil gauges. The stock gauge reads in MPa and the Napa gauge reads in PSI. Notice they are not exactly the same but close enough for me. I know with the mechanical gauge I still at least have oil pressure.

Nice job Rob.
I had a similar situation only I removed the all of the OEM gauges and installed a low oil pressure and high coolant temperature alarm while I was at it (just in case something happened while my back was turned, or having too much fun).

Thanks Bob,
I actually got the idea during the time I had the tractor split.
At the time, my Cummins generator shut down while running because it gave the computer a low oil pressure signal. The computer shut it down. Well, I knew the oil pressure was fine and I just changed and serviced it. So I put a mechanical oil gauge on it while it ran and the pressure was fine. I then called Cummins to let them know about the error and fix the dang thing.

That's when I decided to do the same to the Kama. During the hot Summer days I always got a low oil pressure reading and often wondered it it was really low or if it was a bad sending unit. Now I'll know for sure.
The high coolant temperature alarm is a good idea. I need to have an alarm like that when I try to drive off with the parking brake on.:D

I thought about that too - but only briefly. Might be rationalization, might be procrastination - your call. But you and I have wet brakes, so rust and dirt aren't an issue. And being lubricated full time also means the discs will not likely warp in the relatively short time it takes us (me) to actually remember the brake release lever. Although - sitting here typing this - I bet a flashing red light would get my attention better than does that solid red light.

I'd be happy if I could just figure out why the pedal linkage adjustments can't seem to make both right and left discs grab equally and simultaneously. Then I'll investigate putting a flasher on the brake warning light.

Well, since I started the deviation on my own thread, I'll continue with it.
The flashing red light is a good idea Greg. Like you, I do catch myself after a second and release the parking brake. No real harm done. It's sort of like using the turning brakes since my pedals are disconnected from each other anyway.

Back to the flashing red light ... I don't see why we couldn't get a blinker module wired to that red light? So that it does flash instead of just stay on all the time. Or ... perhaps get a brighter light like a blinker light on there?
The micro switch to control the flasher could be installed under the parking brake lever so it would be separate from the switch that is now activated by the brake pedal or instead of it. It would become a true parking brake warning light. I don't like that red light coming on when I apply the brakes anyway (like it is now). What does that do for me? Tell me I'm stepping on the brake pedal ... lol.
Dang, another item for the "mod list".
Good idea.

Come on Rob how about a Ignition coil hooked up to the light and flasher secondary hooked to your seat that will get your attention.

On second thought I need to do the that mod on my tractor for parking brake that I forget to release.
