Son got first Duck

My son Dean got to go out hunting weekend before last with our buddy Kevin and was able to score a "pintail" duck.

It was his first experience duck hunting, and it sounds like it will be another Passion for him.

He said it was hilarious how you would hear his blind fire, as the ducks came across you would hear, BANG, BANG, BANG, bing, BANG. Dean was the only 20 in the blind.

While some things in life are not going as well as I would like them too, it serves to remind me of how good we have it with the freinds and family that we have.

See if I can get a pic to stick.

The blind gave their birds to Dean at the end, mmmmm, mmmmm Good eating.

Congratulations to your son. And thanks for the story and pictures. I know the feeling when my daughter got her first dear I was so excited that I almost stepped out of the stand still don't remember going down the ladder.

Nice looking sprig. Love the long tail feathers on him!!!!! For a first duck, he got a trohpy. I've been cursed on trying to get one good enough to have stuffed. The last one that I had with a perfetc tail and colors was set aside to protect it. Then later in the day, I wasn't paying attnetion and the guy I was hunitng with, his dog licked the feathers off of it. Funny how hard it is to get a perfect one when you are trying, but when you are not, that's all you shoot.

Eddie, that is just too phunny about the dog licking the feathers off a good mount, sorry to hear that one....

Almost beats having an otter grab your duck after you let it float among the dekes and devoring 1/2 of it before you know it......
