FarmTrac Troubles

   / FarmTrac Troubles #1,671
Former Farmtrac dealers have no problem with listening to and possibly working with either Montana or LS-Mtron.our difficulty lies with and has always been with Textron Financial and their heavyhanded ways. neither of the above companies have offered to help resolve that issue, which has all indications of becoming even more ugly very soon.hopefully the experience
farmtrac dealers have suffered will be benificial to the future business dealings of all dealers across the industry.
Redneckford, your humor and keen insite have made the trip a little easier for many of us, sometimes it's all we have. thanks my friend.

lthe latest from Montana who are apparantly in the drivers seat.

Jim

Montana has a lot of fence building to do. It was some of the info. they feed to dealers from their start that hurt sales for a great many dealers. Some of the rumors were true and some were not. A few became true when the lies went around. The local montana dealer around us stated several lies that did hurt our business. LS on the other hand has not played those kind of games. I think it has been clear that Montana management has had a vendetta towards Farmtrac from their start. I don't think montana is any drivers seat with the dealers at this point and when LS finishes their US arrival they may at best be in the trunk or trying to keep up from the outside!

Hmmm, I thought this was a Farmtrac thread for owners and dealers. Glad your not my FT dealer
JIG and 32FORD,

Although RedNeckFord's messages may be seen as somewhere between cryptic and a straight-up noodle scratcher, please keep this in mind: There's a substantial message and veteran experience behind his words. RNF has contributed insightful information (laced with backspin humor and a heapin' of satire) from Day One of this blog. Trust me, Boys, when I say this isn't RNF's first go-'round.

Montana tractors had taken off well and they have had success with LS tractors.LS tractors coming directly leaves them with difficult choices which means difficult times for dealers dealing with Montana. The good news is that if LS wants to be a success it will have to take care of both Montana amd Farmtrac tractors manufatured by them.Maybe they work out a deal with Montana.who knows??
The dealers dealing in LS tractors have to weigh their options of which way to go.

I have every reason to believe ex-farmtrac and Montana dealers would be well advised to use extreme caution in business relationships with Montana at this point. things are not as they appear.

Ole Blue,
I'm sorry I have missed some of your replies. I'll try to get caught up again.
I'm wondering----I received a call from the Montana block man inviting me to their meeting in Raleigh. He said that Montana would have 18 month floor plans. (My impression from other sources is Textron will end their floor plans with Montana in 18 months. The clock began ticking Dec 31,2008 I believe.) I have also read that Farmtrac dealers will no longer be allowed to borrow on their Textron accounts (not that they have for the last 12 months!). My wonder is this: If I were to sign on with Montana, would I be told just after receiving inventory, that as a Farmtrac dealer I'm not allowed to floor with Textron and all the tractors are due?
As far as the Escort parts in New York--I think that will make it much easier for dealers with Escorts inventory left to sell. I sold my tractors not knowing where parts were coming from. (Admittedly, I have made some orders directly with India but the cost of international air freight is a killer!) It would seem to me that if one wanted a new Farmtrac at a discount, now that we have 2 parts sources, Montana/Tarboro and New York that it would be best to act soon. The only thing--don't call me --I have already sold my tractors. I'm just waiting to see what LS and Montana do.

Everyone must be busy packing the wheel bearings on those tractors for the ride to Atlanta-----is the dog going too??? Hope Textron has applied for some of those bail out funds----If not only a few lawyers will have any money left no dealers and no Textron----what a shame-----communication in a Fair and Realistic Manner could solve all this stress for everyone involved including the dealers and customers of all the other brands----5000 tractors on the market would affect everyone that has a position in this business!!!! IT MATTERS!!!! No one trusts anyone in this business environment-----much less for long term commitments!!!!!!

Red, I don't care too much about Textron getting a bailout, but I know some weary FT dealers who could use a bit of help about now.But as long as these peckerwoods keep on with the secret meetings and backroom deals it ain't likely to happen.one would think men who were smart enough to become CEOs
would realise, you can't get money from people that don't have it. if they want it then they have to help the dealers sell these quickly aging tractors. deep discounts, good warranties and cooperation would solve the problem much quicker, with less expense than continous legal wrangling that is bound to happen.if they could get their fangs out of the dealers neck long enough, they might realise that the corpse has been sucked dry.guess we gonna have to get ol blue's nose on the trail again.

So has anyone heard how the meeting with exFarmtrac dealers and Montana went?

The meeting must still be going on or no one went----or was it confidential!!!
Who all is involved in the parts that are coming from New York Sushil?, Smith? AC? and who else----(see they are selling Mahindra parts(India) also) Who paid for the shipment of parts that the dealers had worked on during the summer---what port ---who got those parts
What has LS Mtron done lately besides talk about coming????
If they can get parts to New York surely someone with a "Good Fair" reputation can get a boat load of parts from India and Korea!
Has Montana starting shipping tractors from NC---or they green or blue?? Are they building Loaders and Backhoes yet? Montana bought 900 tractors in NC and 200 Tractors in Mississippi right??? and have alot of tractors coming back in from dealer buy backs---how many and when??
How long did Smith---- work for FarmTrac and are they now working for Montana???? they didn't fill out their profile----wonder why????
Alot of questions???? anyone have answers!!!!
