I'd shop the prices a bit, seem a little high. as for tires, I'd go with high ply. remember time is money and you don't have time to deal with flats. you'd be amazed at what a tire can find in a yard.

Thats a big price tag for what it is. You can get a 60" diesel Kubota ZD326S for $10,300. Kubota owns the diesel ZTR market, and has for a long time. Have you looked at them?

Ive never really looked at kubota not a huge fan of them really and i think your paying a little more for that yellow paint under the hood.

Confused? Explain? Not sure how you could say your paying more when its one of the cheapest diesel ZTR's available. Whats Yellow?

I'll be the first to tell you, any amount of brand loyalty to equipment is totally stupid. You can have one vender that makes a few great products, but an equal amount of terrible ones. Do your homework. We sell Ferris machines that use the same CAT engine thats in the Scag your looking at, its not a CAT... it know it says it, but its a Perkins engine. I'd take a Yanmar or Kubota over it anyday.

I know its a perkins diesel, cat bought them a while back so it is a cat... and like I said you pay for the yellow paint the kubota diesel that they have has a little less HP and alot less torque and its a grand cheaper from what ive read on the internet.. I will have to look at ferris

the ferris seems ok the shocks on it look nice to have, but at a $18,000 price tag. and you only get one more lb ft of torque from the ferris with the CAT i just dont think so.

No, it is a Perkins, even though CAT bought them. CAT could not build a small reliable diesel if there lives depended on it.

that is true Cat couldnt LOL.

I made a new post in lawn an garden seems more suiting for this thread

Actually, the Cub Cadet utility vehicles had CAT diesels in them for a while. 20hp if I remember correctly. Cub Cadet does not put ANY diesel in their UTVs anymore. But yea, CAT did put one in. Or someone made it for CAT?

CAT is the parent company, but all the engineering and R&D are all done by the Perkins crew. Some things did not change. And that makes me happy that MF(AGCO) is headed to SISU for power. As long as the CAT gang does not screw things up, they will be ok.

Ive loast alot of respect for cat over the past few years. they use to have the best motors on the road and equipment, but they seem to be falling behind a great deal there not going to have a motor on the road after 2010 i mean what is the world coming to??? Cat really needs to step up.

I hear you there. But it all comes back to $$$$. There will be off road emissions, but still, off road is a bigger cash cow for them.
