Mahindra 2516 HST - First time buyer experience

The TYM T273 is to small (light weight) a tractor to run a 5' Brush Hog, and for the Mahindra I think you would be better pleased with the 2816 over the 2516. It isn't the horsepower as much as it is the size and weight of the tractor.

I liked the looks of the TYM T273 but will likely jump up a size larger. The T273 was bigger than the SCUTs from the big manufacturers but I need to get down to our Mahindra dealer to look at a 2816.

I would like to run a 5 foot brush hog, post hole digger, rear blade. I would need to move snow and a rear blade looks like the most cost effective setup. The HST would also be my choice.

I did stop by a TYM dealer today after leaving Missoula, MT and the T273HST tractor he had looked really good. It came with a backhoe attached too. He was asking $18k for the tractor/loader/backhoe.

I have had the luxury of using both tractors. The 273 minus gross hp is more comparable to the 2015HST in size, weight and lift capacities. I think the 2015 actually lifts more since the bucket is almost a foot closer to the tractor. The 2615 HST is considerably larger and heavier sharing a frame size and weight of the 30hp models. If you have a chance, go drive both the Mahindra and TYM, the differences between the models both good and bad will be very evident.

Just went to the Mahindra dealer in Spokane and looked at a 2816, manual transmission with a Woods loader that had the skid steer attachment. It was a fantastic machine and sitting next to the 2416 it looked huge. The difference in pricing between the 2416hst compared to the 2816 manual was about $1000 plus a $400 upgrade for the Woods loader.

Once we get our house sold and close on our property I will be headed back to Cascade to pick up a 2816. It was a very nice machine!

Why would he be hacking a tractor post...looking for guys that need help with the loader joystick?...ha All I hope is someone else is packaging the items he sold. Picture that...lol
