I have a 60" mower deck on my B7100. If I bought a 48" mower deck, would it quickly interchange or is the actual bolt on mounting hardware completely different? I only want something i can quickly swap out.

If you're talking about a 3PH mower then I'd say ..yeah.

Why anyone with experience would would buy a MMM...I dunno.

There must be a lot of inexperienced people on these boards then.

Why go from 60 to 48 inches?

Only if you go from an RC60-71B to an RC48-71B series deck. I believe that anything in the -71B series will interchange.

Does Kubota still make mmm mowers for the B7100?

oh yeah, i meant a B7100 48" mower and a B7100 60" mower. same 71B tractor and mowers for that tractor. that's good to know they should interchange, guess they attach the same way?

i'm looking for an extra deck to use as a field mower for mowing my fields and paths without hacking up my finishing mower blades for my yard. it'll only be used a couple times a year.

first i don't think i can find another 60" mower, but i have seen a 48" for sale.

there's a few paths that are up the side of a mountain, i mow backwards up the mountain. it's so steep i don't know what a 3PH mower would do for stability and if i could navigate those steep terrains and have the mower not get hung up...because it's not smooth either, lots of undulations and stuff. if you're going backwards and the grade changes substantially instantly, seems like the 3 point mower would hit or bottom out or something.

i am going to get a 3PH rear mower for my flat field, so maybe i'll wait until have that for a bit in case it would work. but i'm doubtful, that mountain is frightfully steep.

I would think the 3pt would be more stable and handle the dips and such better than a mid mount mower, if only due to the mower having more travel. A mmm only has a limited amount of travel before it bottoms out when going over a bump in the path. Coming out of a dip, you can always raise the 3pt clear of the ground if it is required.
