Texasjohn (and others): My apologies if I stepped over the political commentary line; it wasn't my intent to do so. Sorry if I offended, even unintentionally.

Nor was was my comment intended to be political at all, and certainly not deragatory to anyone on TBN. Rather, as deputyrpa points out, it was intended to poke fun at his determined resistance to that fact that the world's warming and, in a self-deprecating way, remind him that we still share a lot of common ground despite the insidious and very liberal "purr of the Catwoman" (my crazy-cat-lady ultra-liberal girlfriend and former co-worker of deputyrpa).

Besides, I'm with Rick and others on the original topic of this thread: I can't wait for it to be winter for real and start to snow a bit. -WSJ

Not sure "all" others share the "let it snow", "let it snow", "let it snow" mentality.

For me, snow means frozen ground, which means no more hole diggin, which means backhoewithdrawlitus. Painful condition.

PS, do you know how hard it is to wash and wax a backhoe when it's 4 degrees F out? Not easy.

Joel :)

Hey Deputy (in a wisper), I think my desperate attempt at levity may have worked......(voice tapers to a hush).

Hey Deputy (normal voice), hope that rear tire is all set and no more self inflicted wounds.

I'm gonna install a water heater for the winter, will splice into lower radiator pipe. Any plans for something similar? This will be your first winter with the big machine.

I've never had a start problem, but I'm thinking warmer is probably better.

"Phineaus J. Whoopie, you're the greatest!"

Yeah, the tire is holding up just ....swell.

I have an inline radiator heater ready to be spliced in as well.....better to be safe than stranded.

I know I'm stepping on a landmine, but "untrue, false, or inaccurate", should'nt that be worded "that is knowingly untrue, false, or inaccurate"?

Depsite the fact that the good works of his children's foundation require that he stay above the brawl of politics, our superhero is nevertheless always prepared for the diabolical mayhem caused by the dropped adverb. The true crimefighter always carries everything he needs in his utility belt, and this occasion is no exception. Judging in the situation with clear crime-fighting foresight, he states, "I'll accept your explanation for the nonce. However, if we find that you've been perbearicading, it will not go well for you." Yes, our caped crusader is reminded of the chestnut, "There's less here than meets the eye".

What happened to his thread? I thought it was about tractors and snow.

Thanks for the chuckle deputy. Now let's get back to the snow or lack thereof.

I am surprised this thread has stayed open this long, talking about that white powder stuff and all. Some of us have absolutely no desire to engage in plowin' snow when we can still plow dirt thru the whole two weeks of winter and wear short sleeve shirts doing it, lol.

Even though I like the snow alot:D I will take the snow and cold weather over earthquakes, huricanes, tornados, and such anyday.:)

I prefer neither :p:p:p

Coming from the one guy who lives in a geography where that statement is true. Neither cold nor hot.

Quick question, do you see any corrosion from salt water and air? Or does metal stuff last forever, I'm trying to find at least one negative. :)

You and me both! People think I'm crazy for loving winter, but given the alternatives I'll take a foot of snow any day over that stuff! :D

You may have found it. :D:D:D Don't notice the salt so much, but rust is a major problem. Part of that is humidity related, plus we are perhaps a bit damper with our 120+ inches of rain a year.
