What do you guys think about adding the STP to the SUDT fluid. Guy with the street sweeper wrote he added 10% to his fluid and the pumps lasted twice as long? Oh, and there isn't anyway I'd ad that to my BX24 so don't worry 'bout that.

Oh, 140hrs and not a problem. Changed the fluid at 50hrs and 100hrs.

I'm not going to start mixing oils.... the manufacturers have standards and quality control for a reason.... no point in me wasting money, IMHO.

I also went over everyone of those post as Texasjohn did and i seen the same as he did, The guy with the sweeper seem to be more of filer problem then anything else. I think he was useing the sweeper filers and they aren't doing the job.

Just completed the 1600 hour service on the B2400HST a couple of weeks ago and never had a problem with the transmission. In fact, I've never had a problem with the whole machine in 8 years. Well, there was one operator caused problem but we won't go into that.

Don't have many hours on the L4740, just over 100, but again, no sign of any problems.

I wouldn't be without either of them and I personally wouldn't have a tractor without HST. These days I find the the gear tractors at the farm to be a chore to operate.

My B8200HST had 425 hours on it when I got it. It has 1200+ now. It is also about 23 years old(1985 manufacture). No problems. Use it hard too. I do keep up on scheduled filter and fluid changes. And grease the HST pedal shaft :D

i bought an HST Kubota, my first tractor. i read and talked to a fair number of folks before buying and got nothing but great feedback on Kubota HST's, i couldn't really find any actual issues at all. everything i've seen suggests the reliability of a kubota diesel HST tractor is going to be mostly related to maintenance and care.

mine is awesome and i'm very happy in the recommendation to buy it and feedback i've gotten here (and elsewhere). one of the best purchases we've made.

Leejohn and Texasjohn, since that was posted many have chimed in with favorable posts but the first 4 of 5 were negative and before the others wrote in I had already asked the question here. I am glad I did though as I was glad to see all the positive posts. Matt_Jr I have read where many folks say they use the STP, but I think like Texasjohn said I would not mix oils, I just trust the SUDT and am not going to mix anything else with it. Thanks for all the posts and input guys-TPS

Just turning 500 hrs on my BX 1500. Changed HST Fluid and filter per mfr recommendation (50 and 300 hrs? can't remember right now, but I follow what is says in the owners manual), and cleaned screen. Always used SUDT. No HST problems so far. I don't baby my equipment, but I try not to abuse it either.

The other thing about that other board. The number of posts are about 1/100th the number here, maybe less. More posts = more people = greater exposure to issues. It's not that we are all drinking the Kubotaide, at least I don't think so...

1*I did my used BX1500 at 400 hours.
And my new BX1500 at 50 hours.
2*50 and 300 is correct.
3*No HST problems with either BX1500

4* A far grater more accurate sampling.

Well, it seems to be unanimous.

Stay away from the HST. Too many breakdowns. I think I better sell my 3030 before the hydro fails. :D

We just had one in the shop that failed... the owner had not changed the HST fluid in 1800 hours. Clearly the tractors fault.

Really though... the only Kubota HST's that have had trouble are some of the B's from 10-12 years ago. You can tell, they go weak. There are some modern, well known tractors today that do still have problems with HST's, but Kubota seems to have it down to a science.
