Also, to answer your question about bush hogging... good idea, but no, it could not have been bush hogged. I'm not kidding about not being able to walk 10' in parts.

Ill start a new thread but was wondering if these pictures would seem like a job for a mulcher

Hello Spek, I am located in central Al. and will be glad to assist you.

I called around to the land clearing companies and most did not want to talk about mulching......plenty of people to do dozer work. Apparently they are all out of work. I can get dozer work for next to nothin....... I did have a company say they had a skid steer and would "give the mulching attachment a try".. Guess it is not as popular in south Alabama.

Spek, mulching is very popular in south Alabama and prices vary between contractors. It cost to travel. I have worked as far south as Evergreen and Grovehill so far.

Is it usual to pay per hour or per acre or what. I have several people willing to dozer for $75 an hour or less. I have not had anyone with a mulcher call me back.

At minimal I need the 2 acres for house and drain field cleaned and the property lines cleared for fence....What kinda minimum price should I expect to pay? Should I start a new thread?

Prices per acre could range from 500.00 to 1000.00 per acre. Depends on how dense the brush and small trees are. If you get into an area where the small gums or post oaks are thick and growing very close together it takes longer to work productivly.
Your pictures did not seem to indicate that situation. Most people had rather not travel for less than a days work if you are three hours away. Pictures you posted seem to be very mulchable. Meaning a person should be able to mulch and clean your property without much trouble or expense. If you need more answers call me 205-799-9069.
