I have been stunned with the number of turkeys we have this year and how tame they have become. Even when we walk into the yard, they don't do anymore than just move away from us if we get too close. This is true for hens and toms.

Now, they have suddenly disappeared. It seems just as hunting season is approaching, they have moved off into heavy brush and woods until hunting season is over. I really think these birds know when they need to lay low for awhile.

This one pecked a hole in my brand new screen door last fall.



We have 6-10 that roost in the trees around our home on a regular basis.

This one pecked a hole in my brand new screen door last fall.

My neighbor has the same problem. They see their reflection in the window and peck through the screen. They also poop profusely on his deck. If the screen is metal, you could hook up a fence charger to it and give them something to gobble about.:D
