UTB/Universal DT550
Model Year: 1974
Got tractor used, no loader, no cab. Wanted a tractor that would be very good overall. This UTB has given us awesome service, has plenty of power, tremendous traction, respectably quiet while in operation, very thrifty on fuel, super stable on side hill cutting & baling. Only problem is now giving transmission problems due to infiltration of water past shift tower seals. No local dealers or repair people willing to fix an otherwise well-built tractor. It's a shame that UTB/Long is no longer in business.
Pros: Quiet, fuel efficient, very stable, always starts.
Cons: Rain water into transmission, no parts avail., no dealers around.
