TIGERCUB Scag
Tiger Club STC 48V-23CV
Model Year: 2008

Great machine. Built heavy duty and I'll never have to buy another mower.

Pros: Heavy duty, cast iron spindles with timing bearing for blades and easy to maintain.
Cons: Ride could be smoother.

TIGERCUB Scag
Commercial Mower for a Residence
Model Year: 2003

I selected the Scag because I had been through several cheap residential mowers only to continuously repair or replace them. This commercial mower is made to last and has not disappointed although the price was more than twice what a residential mower would cost. To me the reliability made the difference.

Pros: Reliable and powerful.
Cons: No drink holder.

TIGERCUB Scag
Tiger Cub
Model Year: 2002

Being in the mechanical and electrical field 40+ years, the 12 year old Tiger cub has seen its abuse. Our main problem has been with wheel motor supports that have been upgraded to 1/4". It has held up pretty well. I had a go around with the engineer from Scag but all things considered this has been a tough mower and will continue to work it. The Kawasaki air cooled has help up well with regular maintenance. I'm the service person for all my sons mowers and I did like the Scag connection.

Pros: Tough.
Cons: Not perfect but close.

TIGERCUB Scag
Scag Tiger Cub-- is a Beast
Model Year: 2007

I don't give five stars. This thing is a tank!! Love it, I mow approx 2 acres at home with a another that is soon to be seeded, so I'm not mowing it all the time right now. I also mow a couple lawns in town. I don't think there is anything better than fresh sharpened blades and a cleaned out deck and your are mowing at fill tilt and just loving it. I have never had a mechanical issue with it at all. Other than PM i haven't touched it to be honest. Though it does seem a little underpowered at times when you are cutting 3"+ of thick grass it doesn't throw the grass as far you would like. But you have to remember that you are also cutting 3"+ at ten mph! (I mean cutting 3" off the top, not cutting the grass at three inches.) I need a bigger mower for my own yard because of the time it takes, I'll be buying a bigger Scag for sure! The only bad thing I can say about it is when you are mowing down STEEP hills it will loose traction easliy. On a ZTR when you lose traction you also loose the abilty to steer. But the grades I'm talking about ia probably 35%. I haven't driven many others especially down STEEP hills but I would amagine that they would do the same thing.

Pros: Quick, easy to operate
Cons: STEEP hills, a little underpowered at times
