About the Kubota L4310


The Kubota L4310 is a compact utility tractor from the Grand L10 Series, produced between 1998 and 2002 by Kubota. This tractor is available in several variants, including the L4310F (2WD), L4310DT (4WD gear), L4310GST (4WD Glide-Shift), L4310HST (hydrostatic), and L4310HSTC (hydro cab).

Powered by a 2.2L 4-cylinder diesel engine, the L4310 delivers a gross horsepower of 45.3 hp (33.8 kW) and a net horsepower of 43 hp (32.1 kW). It boasts a gear PTO of 37.5 hp (28.0 kW) and a hydro PTO of 36 hp (26.8 kW). The tractor's transmission options include an 8-speed mechanical shuttle, a hydrostatic transmission, an 8-speed automatic fully synchronized transmission, and a 16-speed creeper.

The L4310 features hydrostatic power steering, wet disc brakes, and a two-post ROPS with an optional cab. It has a fuel capacity of 9.2 gallons (34.8 liters) and a hydraulic system capacity of 10.3 gallons (39.0 liters), with a pump flow of 7.8 gpm (29.5 lpm) and a steering flow of 4.1 gpm (15.5 lpm). The rear hitch is of Type 1, with position control and optional draft control, capable of lifting up to 2,310 lbs (1047 kg) at 24 inches.

In terms of dimensions, the 2WD model has a wheelbase of 71.3 inches (181 cm), while the 4WD model has a wheelbase of 71.1 inches (180 cm). The tractor's weight ranges from 2,875 to 3,520 pounds. It comes with front tires sized 6.00-16 and rear tires sized 14.9-24 (2WD).

The Kubota L4310 supports various attachments, including blades, front-end loaders, and backhoes, enhancing its utility for diverse agricultural tasks. It operates with a negative ground electrical system, an alternator with 40 amps (ROPS) or 55 amps (cab), and a 12-volt battery with 582 CCA.

Very Good Tractor

I bought this used almost a year ago. I stepped up from an old IH 384 so this was a breath of fresh air. The hydrostatic trans is great for bush hogging. So far has been extremely dependable. The only thing that has given me trouble is the AC in the cab. Has done everything I've asked it to do. Getting ready to add a Woods FEL next week. Really looking forward to that.

Pros: Reliability.
Cons: AC.

My Favorite Vehicle

Actually my tractor is a L4300 DT, but that wasn't on the drop down menu. Bought it with 57 hours showing. So far it has done everything I ask of it. I only got it stuck once and that was my fault. Pulls a Rhino SE6 pasture shredder like it isn't even there. I had the dealer install dual rear remote hydraulics and use it to run a Speeco log splitter and a Worksaver SG 26 stump grinder. I normally have pallet forks on the FEL boom which I use in my shop operations and for moving timber.

Pros: Great compromise of power and manuverability.
Cons: None so far.

This little tractor is bulletproof. It has never been in the shop. Very reliable, tough, and powerful for it's size (43hp +/-). Excellent value. I own a larger M9000DT, but this is the workhorse on the farm.

Reliable tractor at reasonable price. The drive train is unbeatable. The build quality is good, but a little light is spots. Driveability is easy and fatigue is minimal.

Excellent tractor with HST transmission and front end loader, virtually bulletproof. Must keep radiator screen clean when bush-hogging to prevent overheating. Glow-plugs became inop. several years ago, replaced timer several times still inop. so disconnected lead wire, no problem, starts perfectly in winter with installed engine electrical heater,this has been the only mechanical problem. Would buy this tractor again in a heartbeat. High quality steel all around, no comparison to similar plastic John Deere of same size...the Deere would never stand up to the work I do with the Kubota around the Farm.

Pros: high quality tough machine

Moved up from an old International 454 gas to a 4wd hydro diesel. Major step. Got good advice from Tractor by Net. Very helpful. Was tempted by the Mahindra, but opted for a "safe" choice. Tractor performs well overall, very happy with it. Minor issues -- tends to overheat using the 6' mower. Would never use the dealer again. Would have been nice to know that I could not lift a full bucket without a counterweight and/or wheel weights or calcium.

Pros: Good resale, reliable
