Iseki TA 370F w/FEL
Model Year: 1987
The tractor was bought in Western Australia, as a re-conditioned Japanese import. It is fitted with a new FEL system with pallet forks and bucket attachments. On the plus side, it is simple, comfortable, and vice-free to drive, with power steering, flat floor, and easily operated clutch and other controls. The lifting capability with the FEL is excellent, and the 4WD is easily engaged and gives good traction. The low range gear ratios are very low indeed, and don't receive much use in day to day utility work. General build quality is to solid Japanese standard. However, cold starting is very reluctant (no problem at all once it is warmed up). It has also developed an oil leak from one of the kingpin assemblies on the front axle. The main concern is availability of spares. There is virtually nothing advertised on English language websites for this model. The engine is Isuzu, but replacement of a model-specific Iseki-made mechanical component could be a real headache. If a significant component does fail, then the initially good value of this model could be badly impacted.
Pros: Comfortable to drive, good capabilities.
Cons: Questionable spare parts availability, cold start problems.
