Ford-New Holland 6635DT '97
Model Year: 1997
Ford-New Holland 6600/series had widest stance of all the 4wd tractors I found. Very stable on side hills. They seemed to be very popular down in the hill country. I bought this one down Kentucky way and pulled it home to Minnesota. It's been a good tractor so far. Short wheel base makes working in tight places easier. Loader will lift the back tires off the ground and they are filled with chloride. Have used this tractor for mowing w/7'flail and pulling dump boxes, pulling stumps out, dragging harrows, general land clearing, pasture maintenance. AC keeps wife comfortable. Seems easy on fuel. Four-wheel with locking front and rear differentials makes a huge difference in pulling in snow and mud/clay. Needs to be plugged in below 20 degrees F. Wife likes it. I'm thinking it weighs close to 12,000 lbs. I wouldn't mind getting another.
Pros: Stable on hills, 4wd w/diff lock, 87 pto hp, wife likes, takes abuse.
Cons: Hydrastatic would be nice.
