5254 Cub Cadet
MTD's Big Mistake
Model Year: 2004

MTD after taking over Cub Cadet, built the 5000 CUT line and did a very poor job. Hydraulic pumps are under sized, PTO is weak and so is the transmission. My dashboard caught fire but, that was okay it was in my dealers shop at the time. Yanmar makes that line now I hear it is a better machine.

Pros: It starts.
Cons: Overall just a poor machine.
