cub cadet 2166 won't start

2nd Hand Cub Bad News
Model Year: 2004
Purchase a 2nd hand Cud Cadet 2004 model 2166 from Ebay private party in Florida. Had a 1986 John Deere that ran great---always started but old and tried, reason for buying the Cub. Have had nothing but problems: hour meter, volt regulator, seat safety switch, ignition switch, PTO unit, electrical problem charging the battery and now the fuel pump is going. In eight times mowing, I used my JD to tow the Cub back to the house. The only thing I can say good about the Cub is it looks good; great paint job. I have added the canopy as to save my head from the sun ($58).
Pros: Great paint job and it looks fine.
Cons: Don't buy 2nd hand problems, I should have brought new (JD).

Darn Good Mower

I have had my 2166 Cub for over 8 years and it is still going strong. I would have given it 5 stars across the board except the paint peeled off the 42" deck and had to be repainted. The paint on the rest of the tractor has held up great but the deck was evidently not prepped before painting. I hate that this unit is no longer available but it has been replaced by the GT series that retained the shaft drive. The shaft drive coupled to the hydro trans is awesome.
Pros: All.
Cons: Deck paint.
